My self-summary
Hello! Instead of boring you with a long, rambling profile, here are a smattering of facts about me to help you decide whether we would get along (see also examples of other things I like under the "favorites" section):

I run. A lot. Of late, I've been in marathon training mode because I have an odd sense of what's fun. (By the way, you by no means need to enjoy running yourself, but bonus points if you do.) Lest you think I'm totally insane, the running enables my love of baking (my baking skills are fierce) and eating things I probably shouldn't.

In terms of other activities, running is about the only time I commune with nature. I'd much rather catch a live show, go to a play, visit a museum, check out a new restaurant, do a wine tasting, or watch a good movie than hike through the woods.

While I get my news mostly online, I believe in owning and reading real books. I'm more into non-fiction than novels nowadays. I have a bad habit of reading multiple books at once.

I have a dry sense of humor. It's also a touch warped.

I swear like a sailor at times. However, I also know how to behave in polite society.

Fall is my favorite season. Jeans, boots, sweaters, and autumn leaves equal happiness.

If you want to know more, feel free to ask.
What I’m doing with my life
During the work week, I spend my time navigating and sorting through people's dysfunctional relationships. This has contributed to a somewhat dark sense of humor, but also an appreciation for the life I have.
I’m really good at
Finding humor in bad situations, which sometimes leads me to laughing at inappropriate things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I love to read, but cannot pinpoint a favorite at the moment. I tend to gravitate towards non-fiction. In defiance of this trend, I'm currently reading All the Light We Cannot See.

Movies: The original Star Wars Trilogy, Dangerous Liaisons, The Lives of Others, High Fidelity, Terminator 2, Good Will Hunting, 50/50, Shaun of the Dead, and Braveheart. Despite some of those selections, my taste runs more to arty/independent fare.

Shows: Game of Thrones, The Americans, The Venture Bros., Hannibal, Full Frontal, Archer, The Walking Dead, Breaking Bad, The Wire, Justified, and Fargo. I'm currently working my way through Luke Cage.

I also listen to a goodly amount of NPR.

Music: The National, Neko Case, The Walkmen.

Food: Indian, my mom's lasagne, my grandmother's enchiladas.
Six things I could never do without
A Sense of Humor
My iPhone (horrible to include for so many reasons, but true.)
Swear Words (Kidding. Maybe.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why do some people get all rage-y over the Starbucks holiday cup?
On a typical Friday night I am
You can find me at happy hour with co-workers, out with friends, or relaxing at home watching Real Time with Bill Maher.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I sing loudly and badly along with whatever music is playing in my car provided I am driving alone.
The two of us
