What I’m doing with my life
I am currently doing my degree through the Open University with the intention of going on to teach science.
I’m really good at
Remembering unusual and completely useless factoids.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I tend to read more factual than fiction, but the authors I have to say that I have never missed a new title from would have to include: Terry Pratchett; Michael Crichton; Chuck Palahniuk; and Richard Wiseman, to name a few. I am always open to new suggestions for authors to try.
In movies, I tend to prefer my moral dilemmas to be in the metaphorical and allegorical format of sci-fi or fantasy. Again that is not to say that I don't also own a wide selection of comedies, period dramas and Disney classics, for example. I'll watch just about anything as long as it has been made with love and is internally consistent.
My musical choice is also very varied, from Abba to Tenacious D and back again, but my biggest collections are in indie rock, epic classical and movie soundtrack.
For food, I'd always pick sweet over savoury, and pork pies over carrot sticks.
The six things I could never do without
A book to read; a good friend to discuss and debate with; and ice cream. My needs are few and simple.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The big questions: where did we come from; where are we going to; what should we do while we're here; why should we do it at all? Even though I know I'll never get a satisfactory answer, I can't help but keep asking.
On a typical Friday night I am
Watching a film with great friends.
