My self-summary
For a long time, I've identified myself by the work I do, or the things I like. Don't get me wrong, those things are part of who I am, but I am not just a software engineer, or a gamer. Instead, let me share some of the fundamental pieces that make me, me.

I'm an optimist. It might be my downfall, but that glass is half full. Even 2 days behind schedule and a person down, I believe that mountains can be moved. Does that make me wrong? Sometimes, yeah. Other times, I pull through, because I won't give up.

I believe in love. I'm not the best at it, that's for sure. But I believe. I'm looking for someone to spend my days with. A person who will pull me out of my comfort zone, and come along for the ride. I want to find a friendship for the ages, where we each help make the other the best they possibly can be. I swear, I'm not asking for too much, but these things take time.
What I’m doing with my life
Working towards the dream... having a bathtub deep enough to properly soak in. I wish I was kidding.

Mostly writing code and working on my house. I work as a software engineer, working in the legal field. Lately, that has meant a bit of travel, which is great. I adore seeing new places, and trying food while I'm there.

Outside of work, I've been getting my health in order. I'm working towards the Broad Street Run this year. It's serving as a pretty awesome motivator.
I’m really good at
I'm pretty great at writing code, as I do it for a living, but that's kind of dodging the question, isn't it? I'm pretty solid at budgeting time. Oh, and fixing my parents' computer problems over the phone.

Things I'm not really good at

Pairing socks after doing the laundry. Please don't make me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I haven't been reading as much lately, but I want to fix that soon. I've been looking into audio books so I can "read" while I work. A few of my favorites are the Harry Potter series, Snow Crash, Ender's Game, and the Incarnations of Immortality series.

I have a ton of movies that would go into the favorite category. Right now, I'm in love with all Marvel Cinematic Universe movies. I can't wait for Civil War. Besides that, who doesn't love a good heist movie, like Ocean's Eleven or The Italian Job? Then there's silly movies I could watch all the time like Super Troopers or Eurotrip. Oh, and Tron Legacy. And because people like to post their views on horror... I'm not much of a fan. They tend to put me to sleep, or crack me up. Neither reaction is received well by horror fans, generally.

TV shows are my bread and butter at the moment. All the current comic shows are a bit of a passion right now. Recently, I've been keeping up with The Blacklist, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, Arrow, The Flash, Archerand Silicon Valley.

Edit: Most of my shows are done. Anyone got any recommendations?

For music, I listen to a ton of different stuff. In the car, it's usually WMMR for my commutes. My recent playlists have included artists such as Shinedown andThe Offspring. I have brief flings with pop music as well.

When it comes to food, yes please. If breakfast is an option, like at a diner, I'll probably order that. I found a solid bagel place where I work now, so that's another great option. And sushi, I love those little morsels.
Six things I could never do without
Leonidas, my furry king of all,
Outings with the best people I know,
Various stories, written and aired,
Enjoyable games that bring people together,

And some other things I'll add later.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
When is something awesome being added to Netflix? What do I need to get done tomorrow?
On a typical Friday night I am
* At the gym (turn to page 12)
* Playing games (turn to page 36)
* Watching some TV or movies (turn to page 96)
* Remembering those choose your own adventure books.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
This (2016) holiday season, I stopped to play with kittens at the PetSmart where I was buying some gifts for furry friends. After putting one of the kittens back down, he started crying, and it was heartbreaking. Well, it was even more so when the rest of them joined in the song of their people. I silently counted to see if I could afford all of them. I decided I could, but I don't think my house could handle that much love.
You should message me if
You should message me if any of the following are true:
* You have a hobby you love, and wouldn't mind teaching me.
* Want to drop a hint about where to find a good sushi joint.
* Just want to play some games. Board/Card/Video, doesn't matter to me.
