Outgoing, with a propensity for spontaneity. I was hooked on National Geographic as a child. The first thing I do when I visit a new city is find the best local food I can. Biking is my preferred mode of transportation, and I love spending Saturdays hiking with my dogs or baking with the neighbor kids.
I've been fortunate enough to travel to 14 countries between 3 continents. Some of my favorite adventures include being the only foreigner on a research project in the Rift Valley, studying culture and religion in Uganda, teaching english in the mountains of Guatemala, learning to make pasta from a family in small town Sicily, and meeting new friends while couch surfing in India. Nothing beats what I've learned from the people I've met from all over the world.
In the future, I would like to teach social sciences at an international school and dabble in education programming with a development organization. I don't know if I'll ever leave Africa.
