My self-summary
I am nerdy, foody, and a little bit drunky.

I'm also a bit sporty, and have become a little obsessed with competitive cycling (Lance notwithstanding). I have a lot of different interests, although I'm trying to keep most of them balanced in my life.

Aside from the cycling, I also enjoy cooking and soccer. I'm a little spazzy and bump my shins on things a lot. At any given time, I'm kind of a walking collection of muscle and joint injuries. My other interests are as follows:

I'm a big fan of most forms of decadent music. I enjoy the visual arts (everything from Flemish painters, to early 20th century graphic design, to comics); film (Akira Kurosawa, Terry Gilliam, Terrence Malick, and Wes Anderson, to name a couple of directors); food (cooking and dining out); and lots of coffee.

I have probably listed too many different things in my profile (again, balance), but I also don't believe in hiding one's enthusiasm for something. I like people who are openly enthusiastic about the things that interest them- the whole "over it" pose gets very tiring. That being said- here's a list of other random things: Tom Waits, Hayao Miyazaki, Belgian beer, Los Bros Hernandez, chili, Old-timey music, scotch, pastries, steak, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the smell of plywood, Medieval music, The Arsenal, animals with people's names, Old Style beer, not being hit by cars, White Castle, gin martinis, and making lists of stuff.
What I’m doing with my life
Enjoying a relatively mundane career in advertising, drinking good beer, trying to forget grad school, and cycling longish distances.
I’m really good at
Remembering obscure and useless trivia, figuring out mechanical things, making snarky comments (a family tradition), making chili. I'm actually becoming a pretty good cook in general, even though my kitchen is full of bikes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Either my height, or a slightly manic look about the eyes.

Six things I could never do without
A bicycle
A decent kitchen with good spices
Ukulele covers of Misfits songs
Doc Martens ("It's not class or ideology, colour, creed, or roots- the only thing that unites us is Doctor Martens' boots!")
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Coffee...really good coffee.
On a typical Friday night I am
These days I'm more likely to be having a nice meal or early drinks with friends and calling it a night. I frequently get up early on weekends for cycling or soccer or trips to the market (much to my chagrin, I've become somewhat of a morning person).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

You should message me if
you know what comes after "We got determination- bass and highs..."
