My self-summary
I'm in an ethical non-monogamous (polyamorous) relationship. I'm primarily on this site to make new friends, but I'm potentially open to dating as well.

Some of the information below is probably very outdated, as I do not visit this site frequently anymore.

Most of my hobbies involve fantasy or science fiction in some way. I LARP, read tons of novels, and play all sorts of PC and console games - especially RPGs.

I also love learning about people. I study anthropology, sociology, and religion.
What I’m doing with my life
I am a professional Game Designer. (More specifically, a Systems Designer, for those who are familiar with the specializations). I've worked on games like World of Warcraft, Starcraft II, Neverwinter, and Star Trek Online: Legacy of Romulus.

Aside from that, I'm also a published fantasy novelist. I write "hard magic" fantasy. My style is most frequently compared to Brandon Sanderson's, although I certainly wouldn't claim to be at his level of skill. Yet.

Aside from hard magic fantasy, I'm currently working on a few other books. My next foray will most likely be in the budding LitRPG genre, where I can apply my knowledge of game design in a literary format.

I have a bachelor's degree in Religious Studies from UCSB. I spent two years there after graduating from Los Angeles Pierce College, and I enjoyed it a great deal.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
I have fairly long, shiny black hair.

In terms of my personality, I'm told I have a strong presence. I tend to be quick to take the initiative, and I enjoy leadership roles.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: To name a few: A Song of Fire and Ice series, anything by Brandon Sanderson (such as Mistborn), Dragonlance series (esp. Chronicles and Legends), the Taltos novels, The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, Will Wight's Cradle and Traveler's Gate series, The First Law trilogy, Forgotten Realms (esp. The Cleric Quintet and Time of Troubles novels), Ravenloft series, The Princess Bride, translated Chretien De Troyes romances (i.e. early Arthurian legends). I generally like reading anything involving mythology or high/dark fantasy.

Web Serials: Mother of Learning, The Wandering Inn

Web Comics: Homestuck, Oglaf, Penny Arcade, XKCD

Movies: The Princess Bride, Spaceballs, Monty Python and the Quest for the Holy Grail, The Fellowship of the Ring, The Ring of the Nibelungs, Paradise Lost. I also tend to enjoy psychological thrillers, such as Momento and A Scanner Darkly. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and Pacific Rim are some recent favorites.

Music: A variety of odd music. A few examples: Nightwish, Sonata Arctica, Offspring, Greenday, Sublime, Poe, Cranberries, Stratovarius, Lunatica, Ayreon, Epica, Dragonforce, Dream Evil, Conjure One, and practically any celtic or classical music. I also enjoy a great deal of video game music (such as Nobou Uematsu's work), and anime soundtracks, and vocaloids.

TV Shows: Game of Thrones and Battlestar Galactica would probably be at the top of my list, followed by Rome. True Detective, Stranger Things, and Westworld are recent favorites. I also watch most of Joss Whedon's shows, as well as things like Arrow, Supernatural, etc.

I watch quite a bit of anime. Some recent favorites include Attack on Titan, Fate/Zero, Maoyuu Maou Yuusha, Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu, Log Horizon, Dangan Rompa, and Madoka Magica. Some older ones would include Slayers, Record of Lodoss War, etc.

Food: Pasta, chicken, steak, seasoned potatoes, gingersnaps, chocolate.
Six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I daydream frequently, but I also spend a lot of time thinking about more mundane concerns like work. I have a lot of long-term goals, and I frequently think about the most efficient ways I can go about pursuing those goals.

I spend a considerable bit of time thinking about how to develop stories, lore elements, etc. for my LARP and novels.

I also spend a tremendous amount of time thinking about how to improve on game systems - both for work and otherwise.
On a typical Friday night I am
If I'm not on overtime at work, I'm usually out LARPing. Or working on writing a book. Or working on designing a RPG system. Possibly hanging out with friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a thing for cosplay. ^_^
