--I am a girl of extremes -- I love the big city but I also love the country...not so keen on suburbia.
--In general, I don’t take myself too seriously. I am outgoing but quite shy…passionate and occasionally stubborn.
--I have two brothers who I am very close to and six nieces/nephews who I absolutely adore.
--And I know it is cliché to say but I LOVE to travel backpacking-style….I really, really do…to places with cultures very different from mine. I love the novelty associated with traveling…the constant surprises….being outdoors and on my feet…meeting interesting strangers.
As for my life in a nutshell: I was born and raised in Miami (Coconut Grove, specifically). I moved to NYC for college. After graduating, I lived abroad for a while -- 3 months in Guadalajara, Mexico teaching English and 5 months in Lima (El Surco), Peru teaching science. When I returned to the states, I moved to Boston where I got my MS in nutritional biochemistry. I then moved back to NYC where I worked in healthcare communications for several years. Then Baltimore for nursing school and now New Orleans....I consulted David Simon about the last two moves ;)
