My self-summary
A bit Bohemian. I enjoy laughing, thinking, creating, and exploring foreign places, especially dramatic seascapes and mountains. I answered reference questions for far too long at the local library, and am now putting all of my energy into creative projects. I appreciate a woman who can be both serious and goofy. I can't remember who said, in defending his novel against charges of its being too joyously absurd to be taken seriously, "If it’s serious but not funny, then it isn’t serious enough," but I do subscribe to the theory. I’m looking for someone to connect with, for drinks, movies, hanging out and shooting the shit, and serious dating.
What I’m doing with my life
Drinking coffee, writing, sipping beer, laughing, suffering, hoping, trying not to hope, trying to live in the now but replaying the highs and lows of the past, contemplating death and the time I've got left, making a fool of myself, stepping into things, hiding, less often strutting, most often watching and wondering and chuckling at the mad beauty of being alive in, of all places, Columbus, Ohio.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything by the Coen Brothers or Martin Scorcese. Dr Strangelove, In Bruges, Brazil, Donnie Darko, and One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest. For romance, I love Amelie, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Vicky, Cristina Barcelona, and Casablanca. For semi-obscure geniuses: Bela Tarr and Andrei Tarkovsky top my list.

Books: Lots of non-fiction lately, mostly about films and film-making, but essays, too, and hiking/travel guides.

For fiction, I'm a sucker for a good stylist, and am not afraid to be challenged.

Dylan, Wilco, Beth Orton, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Lucinda Williams, PJ Harvey, Neko Case, Elliot Smith, Enrico Rava, Arild Andersen, Bill Frisell, Tomasz Stanko, Wolfgang Rihm, love the sound of an upright bass, cellos, steel guitars, live blues, and on and on.
