My self-summary
I'm a really easygoing guy here looking for new friends with the possibility that it could lead further. What I am really looking for is someone that I enjoy spending time with as a friend. Someone to go out to dinners or movies or summer festivals. If over time we become closer and think we might want to be more than friends, that's great. But friends first is very important to me. I am not looking for random hookups.

I enjoy playing board games with friends, backyard cookouts, sand volleyball, camping, and video games. I enjoy trying new foods and exploring new restaurants but I definitely don't think I have a refined palate. A greasy burger and fries can be just as satisfying as the chef's specialty at Lake Park Bistro.

I tend to be very laid-back. Not a gym-rat, not a career-driven workaholic, just comfortable with who I am and how I like (and don't like) to spend my time. I enjoy a drink from time to time but spending a night at the bar isn't really for me.
What I’m doing with my life
Finding new things to do, new places to explore. I am a computer programmer by trade. Just switched employers and so far I am extremely happy with the choice.
I’m really good at
Winning trivia games and losing strategy games. Watching cooking shows and ruining the recipes.
The first things people usually notice about me
Physically, probably my shaved head.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music: Anything EXCEPT new Country. Recent favorites are Sleigh Bells, mc chris, Lana Del Rey, Joanna Newsom, The Knife, Boards of Canada. Perennial favorites are Nine Inch Nails, Beastie Boys, early U2.

Movies: Tarantino, Christopher Nolan, Charlie Kaufman, Pixar, Kevin Smith, Star Wars, Matrix.

Foods: anything that isn't still breathing. I love foods spicy (both hot and bold varieties), grilled, sweet, deep-fried, and with a side of bacon. Seafood is very hit-or-miss with me. Some I love, and some I hate.

Podcasts: This American Life, Filmspotting, Radiolab, Serial, Pop Culture Happy Hour, Tank Riot, Savage Love, WTF

Books: Douglas Adams, Harry Potter series, Catch-22. I've read a few Neal Stephenson books (REAMDE, Cryptonomicon, Snow Crash, etc) and really enjoyed them, but man they are long! Taking a break from that and I'm currently reading "John Dies at the End", which is a lot of fun.

Comics: Anything written by Brian K. Vaughan or Joss Whedon. Saga, Fables, Invincible, the occasional X-Men.

Not watching a lot of current television right now. Just binged all of Parks and Recreation. Now working on The Walking Dead. Past favorites are Arrested Development, Battlestar Galactica, Breaking Bad, The Office, and 30 Rock. Love the Whedonverse, but I'm not complete on my viewing of Angel.
Six things I could never do without
The basics (food, water, air, etc), the internet, a pair of screwdrivers (phillips and slotted), a good cast-iron frying pan, a roof over my head, someone to hold.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Who will send me my next OKC message? What logic did people use when they get a different answer to the STALE/STEAL question?

Why do so many people post selfies of them driving?
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately, "typical" doesn't seem to exist. Meeting with friends to hang out or watching a movie, catching a play at a community theater, at a sporting event, camping, summer festival, etc.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I probably enjoy chick flicks more than you do.

Oh, you want THAT kind of private admission? Send me a message and I'll open up.
You should message me if
You enjoy playing board games.

You want to be nice to people and don't promote hate.

You want to go sit in a tent with me for a few days.

You don't watch Fox News.

You have a spare ticket to see Hamilton.
