My self-summary
When my mind is quiet; I hope I'm too complex for...easy summary.

That probably tells you more than I would plainly explain.

If you still want to know more then I'll say that relative to my peers and loved ones I'd say I was always curious. When the interest of others would wane, I still wish to know, whatever it is.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning, trying to decide between the relative merits of clinical Psychology/counseling psychiatry Vs. Psychological Research.

Wondering if Med school is a realistic goal and trying to be stoic about the string of degrees that lie in front of me as obstacles.

Contemplating ways to unite the love of money with the creation of purpose and meaning.

Walking while chewing gum...
I’m really good at
Talking / Conversation: if an honest living and a wealthy lifestyle could be secured solely by a convincing speech I'd have a much nicer set of problems.

It may well be a stretch to say I'm also good at writing but at the very least I'll say that I can turn a phrase when endowed the blessings of providence.

Cooking. The play of experience and perception that defines a good meal taken in good company fascinates me. No one will know that they have tasted the dash of sage in the rice or the roasted peppers ground over the salmon, yet these and a thousand other sensations will occur to them in their experience and be lashed into the gestalt of an evening. Experience is made from a billion scintillating points of sensation that we vaguely assay. A dash of pepper and holding a warm drink will move you but your memory will never record that you were gregarious because of spice...So, yes. I like cooking.

I can't claim virtuosity of any stripe though It's fair to say that wherever attention, patience and love of understanding may grant success, I will have (or be able to approach) a modicum of skill.

Also Video Games, Manual dexterity FTW
The first things people usually notice about me
My voice and its diction, the choice of word and the framing of thought give texture and substance to every idea. A love of unity and common understanding made worthwhile by the exchange. The freedom of speech is in the freedom of being able to speak and be understood. Or...put another way: people notice I talk too much.

The way my hands are always either stroking my chin or animating my speech to grasp ideas and pick the motions of my thought from the ether. If I'm not thinking or speaking my hands tend to be behind my back.

Jim Butcher, David Weber, Michael Karson, Ernest Becker, Jared Diamond and Neil Gaiman, Isaac Asimov, Kurt Vonnegut, Vernor Vinge, Steven Pinker, Malcolm Gladwell, Bertrand Russell

Science, Science fiction, Philosophy or any serious insightful work that turns over a piece of the world to let you see the underside.

Six things I could never do without
* Internal Homeostasis
* The ability to speak and listen
* A direction in which to walk
* A quite hour in the day
* An exceptionally busy day in every week
* The knowledge that there was something to more to discover at the center of every human being I've ever known.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The course of human destiny and the contributions I might make to it If were a fortunate man.

The exact number of sand grains it takes to make a pile of sand.

The fact that being alive means living in a world so beautiful that that beauty must be overlooked.

Toast, I also think about toast.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working out how to make out an Atypical Friday night. Barring elusive success, reading a new book after taking a walk to parts known and probably pestering friends for some good conversation.

Youtube fits in there somewhere.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Toy story came out when I was fairly young, and I treated it like it was a documentary.

When four to five, I spent several months trying to convince my toys that I was trustworthy, that I would accept them if they'd only talk to me. I took their rejection personally, and decided to force the issue by catching them In flagrante delicto.
I snuck up on my favorite toy robot at least a dozen times, on the reasoning that he/it took the longest to turn off when I played with him so he wouldn't have time to jump into his farce if I surprised him.
