My self-summary
Pretend a friend of yours knows this woman. She's a writer, in her late twenties, a lot of fun when you can actually find a good time to get together. Likes smart people. Likes kind people. Likes Derrida, Benjamin, and WWE. Is 80% puns by volume. Might really like each other, your friend says. Here's a way to reach her.
What I’m doing with my life
Writing, at home or abroad in coffeeshops. Singing in the shower, if I don't it's going to be a rough day. Spending time with my friends. Making soft and colorful objects with sticks and string.
I’m really good at
Cascading puns. Spending time in bookstores. Building Lego. Doing puzzles. Knitting. Ranting. Having a lot of opinions.
The first things people usually notice about me
Mostly my smile. Sometimes my earrings. Occasionally the book I'm reading.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors: Robert Alter, Jane Austen, Bill Bryson, Lee Child, Justin Cronin, George Eliot, Michel Faber, Anne Fadiman, Neil Gaiman, Laurie R. King, Stephen King, Hilary Mantel, Robert McCammon, Seanan McGuire, B.R. Myers, Daniel Jose Older, Mary Oliver, Terry Pratchett, Dorothy Sayers, Lemony Snicket, Wil Wheaton, Qiu Xialong.

Movies: Pretty much anything with aliens and/or explosions. I'm fairly picky within that genre, and I like other kinds of movies as well, but that's the place to start. I like being entertained. I find deep meaning in superhero stories.

Shows: West Wing, Sports Night, Firefly, Nero Wolfe, Leverage. (I mostly watch my television on DVD and Netflix.) I'm a Sorkin woman with a way better writer.

Music: Most things acoustic. A lot of pop. Bob Dylan, The Wailing Jennys, Joan Baez, Arlo Guthrie, Fruit, Joni Mitchell, Carly Simon, Sting, Alison Krauss & Union Station, Weird Al, Vienna Teng, Simon & Garfunkel. Stephen Sondheim. Quote me some Sondheim, and with maybe two show's-worth of exceptions, I'll start singing. Go ahead. Try it.

Food: I love cooking almost anything. I'm a noodle soup fancier despite not being able to have most noodles, on account of the evil gluten molecule and how it hates me so.
Six things I could never do without
Stories, Pentel RSVP Fine Point ballpoint pens, good ingredients, enthusiasm, soft sheets, and laughing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Character development. Fibre content and drive ratios. Star Wars.
On a typical Friday night I am
It's got to be something really special that gets me out of the house on a Friday night, when places are packed and loud. Maybe I'm dancing around my kitchen (or a friend's kitchen) making dinner, getting ready to settle in with some silly television or a board game. Maybe I'm curled up on the couch with a book, or painting my toenails, or writing an impassioned screed about something.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still have nightmares.
