My self-summary
I am a 49 year old man who has found myself at this time in my life at what so far
is the best of places. I have a job I love,( I better, I own the company)great friends who proved themselves as true during a hateful, devestating divorce. I am a
one woman man, no secret agenda, no trying to relive my youth, just in a good place
emotionally, finacially, and psychologically.

What I am seeking in a match is a woman that is a lady, appreciates the effort I put
forth in building a solid, honorable relationship. I like holding doors, pulling out
chairs, and sending flowers for no other reason than I thought it was a good idea.
I have a brutally deep sense of humor, not always appropriate, but there isn't much
that I can't find mirth in, more often than not I'm the butt of my own joke, and I
own that part of me. I work in a very technical, and often difficult area of
the telecomm. industry, and I am very good at my job. All of that being said, I am
also a clutzy walking accident in motion, and I have the scars to prove it, but most
of all I am a man of passion, integrity, and honor. If these are the qualities that
you seek in a match, well all I can say is, please ignore the horrible self portraits that I shot for my profile , believe me, I'm only half as ugly in person ;>)
as I appear in the photos.
I work out regularly, 20-25 miles a day riding my bicycle in warm weather, playing
racquetball at my club in the cold months. I enjoy all sports, but frankly, I'd
rather be playing than watching ( I won't apologize for my honesty) and while I am
a loyal Chicagoian, and a penny ante gambler when it comes to sports, I am first and foremost a realist. No room for fanatical
fantasy if the Sox, Hawks( although who bets on hockey or baseball unless you're a degenerate gambler, I'm talkin' Pete Rose type of gambler, of which I am most definetely not)Cubs, Bears, or any of our state supported college teams are playing.

My hobbies include but not limited to motorcycles, scuba, travel, and photography/videography, I love my life and I want to find someone who wants to
share in all of the future's possibilities. Are you that person?
What I’m doing with my life
I live every day with vigor and gusto. I have a big chunk of my life left to see more of the world. I've already traveled quite a bit, but this is a big world and I'm reading a new book or a new map everyday to try and figure out where the next adventure will be.
I’m really good at
It's very private, you'll have to torture me to find out, damn it, I always give it away. Gotta stop taunting myself. Anyway, just put down lots of silly useless but amusing items, and several real world skills. ( Certified Auto Tech, Union Electrician, puppeteer) and the list goes on, on and on, the beat goes on, on and on.......
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm easy to talk to, opinionated as hell, but willing to listen to anyone, the opposite side of that coin is the fact that I have a low BS threshold, if my detector goes off, I will call you on it.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love just about any type of book, even those trashy hither-cum novels that the ladies like, I read about 3 books a week. I try to mix it up with different genres, fiction or non. Favorite author Kurt Vonnegut.
Movies: If it's been made in the last 30 years, I've probably seen it. I enjoy B-schlock as much as "Gone with the Wind", if I had to pick 2 favorites:Full Metal Jacket, and Fight Club( everytime I watch it, I catch some little subliminal, or subversive act, overt or covert, the movie is constantly teaching me things. And the writer Chuck Palaniuk is a genius!)
I love all types of live entertainment, music, theatre, comedy, I will give it a shot.
Same goes for food, don't knock it 'til ya tried it! And in Chicago, well we have it all, the worlds taste buds at our whim.
The six things I could never do without
Besides air, water, food, and sleep, I'd have to say:

empathy,understanding, and consideration.

my sometimes overstimulated curiosity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How things work, how people act, and how to be a better person.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no such thing as "typical" anything in my life, let alone a
block of time dedicated to a single persuit, foolishness. I'm up, open, and ready 24/7, just fill me in on the details as we go.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
In 40 years no one will care. What a worthless question.
You should message me if
Just be yourself, I'm tired of all the liars, losers, and false advertisers that troll these sites. If you're really real post a photo of
yourself from this year, jeez, it's not like I'm not going to figure out
when you sandbagged me.
