My self-summary
Hi, thanks for stopping by. A self-summary, eh? Well, I'm a good guy, I care about people and believe in fairness and equality. I have a few close friends but I'd like to expand that a little bit. I lean towards the introverted side, but in a good way. I think a lot and talk a lot. I love to teach, taught college level for 12 years but I don't do that anymore. I always like to be learning something new or making something. My profession is architecture and interior design and I have my own business. I haven't traveled enough. I'm hoping to fall in love and she and I will travel together. Sappy I know, but what can I say, I'm hanging on to the dream! Other stuff, I'm a musician and play in a band for fun. We rent a jamspace on Capitol Hill. Humor is important. It's hard to be funny online, but let me try with this joke I wrote. If you're annoyed by this joke, or don't get it, we might not have a similar sense of humor . . . big test, here it goes . . . how do monks get inside their monastery? With a monkey
What I’m doing with my life
Until I win the lottery I'm continuing to evolve my professional career. I feel that my best work is ahead of me. Oh, I don't play the lottery so . . . yeah
I’m really good at
I'm a good dog dad to my dog. I'm a good designer and musician. I'm creative and love to make things. I'm good at communicating but not so much if there's a deficit of trust. I'm passionate which is good for a creative person.
The first things people usually notice about me
I don't know. If I'm standing next to my twin brother they might say "dude, why are you 5'-9" and your twin brother is 6'-3"? How did that happen?" I'd say I don't know how that happened. Now that I think about it, that kinda pisses me off. I'm going to talk to him, find out how he did that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
OK, one thing, I'm more of modernist, or at least contemporary. I'm not a minimalist, in fact I'm okay with lots of stuff, but I don't like traditional, I want things to be unique and innovative. I love the living room in the house of Charles and Ray Eames. As for other stuff, I love to go out to eat. I wish I could do it more often. One of my favorite authors is Russell Banks. I love the illustrated books by Chris Ware. I like good fiction and scifi. Last movie I saw was American Hustle and I liked it a lot. Music is a big part of my life. I lean towards new music. I'm not a retro guy. One of my favorite bands from years ago is Radiohead. I'm going to see Russian Circles at Neumos soon.
Six things I could never do without
Friends, my dog, a sketchbook with lots of pens, a guitar, music to listen to (Pandora is awesome) and the hope for many adventures in the future.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Whatever I'm working on, especially if it's design or requires a creative solution.
On a typical Friday night I am
I'd love to have friends come over more often. It's cool to be a host. I like hanging out at home but I like going out as well, either way. Fairly standard stuff here. Nothing to see, move along.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Everyone has baggage. I have small carry-on baggage, easy to carry, nothing to hide, fits in the overhead compartment. Besides that I think I'm proportioned well.
You should message me if
You want to say hello or say something funny.
