My self-summary
After finishing grad school at Georgetown, I found myself in the odd position of actually having the time to explore interests and cultivate hobbies. So, while I've dedicated time to lifting at the gym and HIIT workouts, I try not to be too much of a gym rat and am always on the lookout for anything interesting to fill up my week: mixology classes, charity socials, an introduction to the Waltz, networking events, and so on. I try to be a Jack of All Trades and keep a certain balance.

As part of the working out process I've actually gotten quite good at cooking healthy meals, a shock to my family as much as it is to me. Still, I'm too much of a foodie to give up everything in the name of fitness, I just try to moderate it. In my spare time I write, work with interpreters who have been brought to the states after they worked with our troops in Iraq/Afghanistan, and volunteer with rescued dogs (since I can't get one of my own yet).

I actually enjoy planning dates and have been told I'm really good at them. If you're up for a challenge, send me any 5 facts about you, and only using what you've sent, i.e. without looking at your profile, I will send back a date plan. If you like it, we'll go, if not, then no.

If you want to know more, just ask, I'm an open book on most things. I promise that I'm a lot less serious in person.

Lastly: Hoya Saxa. I bleed Grey and Blue. (Getting a doctor to look into that)
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a defense contractor, working out, and looking for someone to help me rule the world... the usual DC life.
I’m really good at
Making plans
Giving clear and unbiased advice
Quoting Dr. Cox
Pretty good cook

Sung Tzu-Art of War
Machiavelli- The Prince
Miyamoto Musashi- The Book of Five Rings
Harry Potter (Of course)
The Catsitter

And they aren't books but:
The Economist

Gladiator
Jodha Akbar
Troy
Armageddon
The Siege
Harry Potter Series
Dark Knight
Dodgeball
And the list could stretch ad infinitum

Shows:
Game of Thrones
Burn Notice

Music:
Very mood dependent, but I always try to give everything at least one chance. I don't follow bands as much as I enjoy songs.

Food:
Everything except beef. And I do mean everything. I will try pretty much anything at least once.
The six things I could never do without
Besides my friends and family of course....

1) My suits
2) My phone
3) Gym
4) Scotch
5) My computer
6) Internet connection
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everything. Literally. I sometimes have trouble sleeping at night because I can't turn off my brain.

More specifically: my next trip, work out routines, what should I make for my next meal, what other things does my kitchen need, any upcoming events, recent journal articles or studies I've read, and how to win board games against my friends... we're all quite competitive and very good at them.
On a typical Friday night I am
"Same thing as every night Pinky: try and take over the WORLD!"

Seriously though, generally out with friends, at a networking event, winning boardgame nights, or just generally doing something I love; life is too short to not enjoy yourself, whatever that may mean at the time. I usually reserve Sundays for a recharge.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My name is Maximus Decimus Meridius, Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife. And I will have my vengeance, in this life or the next.
You should message me if
If you're intelligent, ambitious, and enjoy being challenged, but have a sense of humor. I am looking for something long term, but not to rush into anything.

Huge bonus points if you know where my screen name is from, without using the Internet.
