My self-summary
To copy what my friends from England say about me, I'm more of a bloke's bird. I love cars, football and rugger. Now that I'm in Portland I spend most of my time running, working at an amazing job that I love and eating brunch.

Having said that am a complete contradiction. I'm blunt and honest but rarely judgmental. I'm a thinker who acts on impulse.

One of my friends still takes the mick out of me for being under the hood of a car attempting to change spark plugs in a dress and high heels. It was difficult as I was holding a fifth of whiskey at the time.

I'm really here for intellectual conversation, I don't know how much of a folly that is, (but in the choice between a folly and a sacrament...) but I'm willing to give it a shot. Or people with accents. I'm a huge fan of accents.

And I love boys who can play music.

I find more truth in this every year. “Don't walk behind me; I may not lead. Don't walk in front of me; I may not follow. Just walk beside me and be my friend.”
― Albert Camus
What I’m doing with my life
I'm working to support my writing habit. I spend an obscene amount of time doing things that involve coffee.

I like attempting to memorize large texts (my proudest achievement would be memorizing the entire text of Howl).

I'm attempting to become more politically active as soon as I find something I care about enough to do that.
I’m really good at
I've been told writing, I just like doing it and would even if I didn't win contests or get published.

Cooking rotten animal, lung heart feet tail borscht and tortilla while dreaming of the pure vegetable kingdom. <--- tell me where this is from and we will be friends.

Quoting and referencing strange things and having a sort of amazing memory. My Family uses me as substitute google.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've thought about this and it would have to be my look or voice.

"You look (insert country of choice here)." I've gotten everything from Irish to Russian. Someone needs to tell me if this is a compliment or suggestion.

1) I'm loud as fuck all and
2) I'm so short people meeting me walk straight past me and I have to call them back with the ever classy Oi!
3) I lack any definable accent and thanks to a large vocabulary and an affinity for idiom, no one can ever guess where I'm from

Or my inexplicable chipmunk cheeks. When I smile I look like I'm smuggling golf balls.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - anything that shows the authors intellect. Umberto Eco is a current favorite and since I'm learning Italian it's a new goal of mine to be able to read Foucault's Pendulum in it's original language. My childhood favorites are Milan Kundera, John Le Carre, Gabriel García Márquez, Anthony Burgess, James Joyce, Terry Pratchett, Hunter S. Thompson, Philip K. Dick, Tom Robbins and David Foster Wallace. Outside of the fiction spectrum I like reading about social sciences, Chomsky, Pinker, and Nassim Nicholas Taleb and I have been known to binge on poetry as well. And of course I like Hobbs, Rousseau, Kant, Marx and Smith.

Movies and Shows - I'm a big fan of British television. I love English humor (Shaun of the Dead, Doghouse are the first to come to mind which also feeds into my zombie obsession). Also a huge fan of the classic British humor, can quote Monty Python and I'm fairly sure I've seen every episode of Black Adder and Faulty Towers at least twice.

Other than that I have a thing for well done espionage and horror. Tinker Tailor Solider Spy being a recent favorite.

Classic favorites are Brazil, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Where the Buffalo Roam, Momento, Run, Lola, Run and the list goes on.

As a car fan obviously love Top Gear (the original!) and sci fi shows like Dr. Who although honestly, I like the Tom Baker period best.

Music - Wax Tailor, Adele, The Who, Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, Neil Young, The Beatles, Dusty Springfield, Janelle Monae, I'm a bit all over the place really.
Six things I could never do without
Excusing the necessary bits (lungs, heart...ect) I would say
words and a way to communicate them thus turning the ethereal into the actual,
textbooks (specifically anything doing with neuroscience, mathematics and as of late, computational biology)
and my loving family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I can't name something that has depth that I don't think about. On subjects ranging from fashion to mechanics to automobiles (my all time dream car is the Shelby Mustang) honestly if someone has taken the time to write about it I've probably studied it. I'm intellectually omnivorous after I realized there was a world after the pitch line.)

Other than that I think about how to learn more things and finding people to teach me
On a typical Friday night I am
A Way, A Long, A Last, A Loved, A long the...

A way from home, away from the city, running wild and untamed through the wilderness.
A long the running rivers
A last I'm feeling free even thought NK gets me down "I hope for nothing, I fear nothing, I am free."
A loved everything and the whole universe.
A long the Willamette running in circles searching for normality.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am seriously in love with April Ludgate. Not joking even a little. Although Chris Trager is my spirit animal.
You should message me if
Honestly, probably don't. I'll message you if I'm interested.

If you insist make your message something more than a 'hey baby' otherwise I will have great fun pointing and laughing at you.
