My self-summary
I am an interesting person. Or so I have been told. I know it sounds egotistical and kind of vain, but it is the truth. I love looking at the world around me and marveling at how things just work.

I try to stay athletic, but there are some things that I avoid. Most winter sports and I don't mix well. I do, however, LARP (Live Action Role Play). I am a self abashed Geek and I am damned proud of it. Some of my other hobbies include working on my Motorcycle, fixing other people's computers, designing kick ass costumes, going to various conventions (Wicked Faire, Steampunk's World Fair, Comic Con) in costume and generally enjoying my self.
What I’m doing with my life
Right now I work at a CNC Machine Shop, but I see my self doing far more. I see the parts I make and just have an ability to see what the part does and how they work. I just finished up a Trade School program for Welding and Machining and just fell in love with working the Machines.

My long term goal is to go back to school and get a degree in Engineering.
I’m really good at
I am really good at... Well, I hate this question because it makes the person answering it sound boastful. I am a good problem solver though. I am also good at trying things and just being plain old good at them.

(I couldn't resist a bit of boasting)

As for a more serious answer, I am good at listening and maintaining an intelligent conversation.

As a Geek and a bit of an Engineer, I am in love with Alton Brown. As such, I am damned good at cooking. Baking as well. There's nothing better than following a recipe, tweaking it to where you like it and seeing the results.
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humour. I know that sounds tacky and cliche, but it's true. I have taken many years to sharpen my wit to rapier status.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I have a multitude of favorite books and movies. To pick out a few, The Diamond Age by Neil Stephenson is one of my favorites. I also enjoy the works of Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman and Ken Follett but I do not limit my self to just these authors. My taste in movies varies from mindless comedies to thought provoking psychological thrillers. The Blues Brothers rates as one of my personal faves. Again, much like my tastes in books, I do not limit my self. Proof of this is the fact that I keep running out of space for my books and DVDs/BRDs on the bookshelves I have.

I like both kinds of music, Country AND Western. But seriously... There are very few genres of music that I don't listen to. If I had to single out specific types, I would have to say that Classic Rock and it's variants (Classic Metal, Classic Hair , et al) are what is usually on my radio.

For food, I have no real preference for food that I don't like. I do have a love of Dim Sum and Traditional Irish food, but I am not too picky.
Six things I could never do without
Six Things that I could never do without... It's hard to narrow down someone's life to just 6 things. I would have to say, in no specific order, My Laptop, My Cell Phone, My Motorcycle, a bottle of good beer (Something from the Bethlehem Brew Works), My friends and a Towel. Never, but never forget where your towel is.

Now if this were "Six things that I'd need to survive the Zombie Apocalypse" it would be different. That would be, again no specific order, A Lobo (The Tool, not the Intergalactic Bounty Hunter), My Motorcycle, A crack team of Scientists to work on a cure, A few friends around to have my back and finally, a good strong willed woman by my side to keep my mind in check.

In hindsight, having Lobo (The Intergalactic Bounty Hunter) around for a Zombie outbreak might serve useful.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about the next project I am working on. I have a mind that loves to solve problems. I will be at work and be designing a part, or working through an engine problem on my 1979 Yamaha XS750.
On a typical Friday night I am
On a typical Friday night I am trying to find out where to ride. I love to just drive around and see the world around me. I love finding strange bars and eateries and meeting interesting people. I have an innate ability to talk with people and be able to maintain a conversation even if I know very little on the subject.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
That some day someone might find out my dark secret... That I enjoy dressing up in a costume, talking in a silly accent and hitting things with foam covered PVC.

I also admit that I am a Geek. But that's not really "Private" now is it?
You should message me if
You should message me if you want to just enjoy your self. I have some of the most varied tastes. There are very few things that I haven't tried and wouldn't be willing to give a shot.

Please don't message me if the following terms appear in your profile. LOL, iz instead of is, Any single letters used in place of complete words (u instead of you, r instead of are etc), terrible grammar and Daffodils. I just plain don't like them.
