My self-summary
[update] - I'm now seeing someone I met offline... this site didn't directly help, but it made me take more chances in "real life", so for that, I'm thankful. For those of you looking for someone special: just... keep.... trying... and don't ever give up. It will happen for you. I know it!

[I just re-read my profile for the first time in months... and wow, do I sound boring! I'm not changing any of it though, and I doubt this will help, but here's a few bonus tidbits I'd like to add:

1) One of the secrets to life I've discovered: Have a high quality condiment collection in your fridge.
2) I often question the leaps in logic that Netflix tries to present to me based on my viewing habits. Just because I watched "Trading Places" doesn't mean you have to perma-suggest "A Fish Called Wanda" to me for the rest of my life.
3) I always feel simultaneously sad AND happy that my cat shows unconditional affection to me every time I come home. I never wanted to be the 'bachelor with a cat' guy, but that's where I'm at. Now lets fix this situation!]

I haven't dated much... I'm more of a reserved person when it comes to meeting girls, but I want to change that. I've been single for 2 years now. Not having someone to take to a new restaurant, a festival, or the State Fair, or a museum, or a concert has been awful. I love to cook, and not having someone to share my passion for food with has also been awful!

I am open to just about anything. I never thought I'd like horse-back riding, but after trying it this Summer... I really enjoyed it.
I like tv and movies and video games, but I'm certainly not addicted to any of them. I'm perfectly comfortable not turning the tv on for days at a time. I enjoy many different types of music, from rock, to folk, to classical, to house/dance music... just don't expect me to really get into country music. I believe in "everything in moderation" and not letting things get you down. Humor is important to me, and I love to laugh at just about everything. I enjoy laughing at unintentionally bad movies. I believe there's value in dark humor, if it's smart, and makes you think too. I also like sharing silly moments. If you enjoy "The Onion", I think we'd get along just fine! :)

I played soccer for 20 years, and love to run as long as my ipod is fully stocked with podcasts or music that keeps me pumped. I don't believe in arguing or getting mad. Anger is a useless emotion and solves nothing. Plus, life is too short, and time is too precious to spend it being negative.

I'm a big fan of the arts. Art is everywhere if you're paying attention. I really enjoy the Opera (I don't think people realize what an incredible opera company that Syracuse has), and going to museums.
What I’m doing with my life
In the Summer I like to Golf, go biking, and run outdoors. Right now, I spend my free time visiting with family, searching for new music/podcasts for the ipod, and rooting for Syracuse Basketball.
I’m really good at
I love to cook, but being single gives me no one to cook for... :( I've been told that I'm a good listener, and I think I'm above average at "bar sports" like darts, pool and the occasional game of beer pong. (eh, who am I kidding, I've won a beer pong tournament before)
The first things people usually notice about me
My long mane of luxurious hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: The Departed, The Hangover, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, Ghostbusters, Groundhog Day, Office Space, Indiana Jones
[Bonus... Favorite Holiday Movies: Miracle on 34th Street, Christmas Vacation, Die Hard]

Music: Beastie Boys, Pendulum, ZZ Top, AC-DC, Deadmau5, Tegan and Sara, Frank Sinatra

Books: Cookbooks, I'd probably read more if I had a Kindle... maybe I'll have to pick one up.

TV: Louie, The Walking Dead, Food Network, Futurama, Community, Mr. Show (the greatest sketch comedy show ever created), Portlandia, Arrested Development
I spend a lot of time thinking about
...what I can get at Wegmans. That place is like a toy store to me! I like going there with no clue of what to eat for dinner, and coming up with something there on the spot. The last time I did that, I ended up making grilled balsamic glazed portobello mushroom sandwiches with gorgonzola cheese. Hmm... I'm getting hungry now.
On a typical Friday night I am
... usually looking for someone to share a drink with after a long week at work. Although I'm perfectly comfortable just staying in and firing up the DVR or Netflix. I hate feeling like I'm wasting a weekend though, so if I don't do something Friday night I'm trying to figure out something to do on Saturday.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm.... colorblind. There, I said it! Now help me shop for some clothes so I don't look goofy.
You should message me if
... you're independent and confident.
... you're humble and don't take yourself too seriously.
... you're educated and like to stay in shape.
... you love to laugh and have fun!
