My self-summary
The best way to tell you about myself is to let you know a little about what I AM NOT or what I am not into. That way you can decide if you want to get to know me.
I AM NOT a loud, meat-headed, "Raging", "Extreme", over compensating for something, bedazzled skull/dragon [insert brand name here] shirt wearing, two Polo-with-a-popped-collar wearing, Pop-Country, NuMetal, Kayne West & Eminem loving, Bud Light drinking, "Bro". Pull the baseball hat all the way down onto your head, La Douche! To be fair, I'm generalizing, but there are plenty of them out there. I don't dislike anyone, though. I've had friends like that. That's just who they are. I'm just not that guy.
I view myself as a rare personality. I am a little eccentric and eclectic. I'm definitely a little odd and flaky, but with a sense of wonder and fascination about the curious and mysterious things that go on in this world, ...this Universe. I like science. I am a geek about space, ancient cultures, anthropology, trans-humanism, Ancient Aliens, and all things Nova. I love to cook and grill. I am a little bit socially awkward and quiet when beginning to get to know someone new.
I am stoic to a point. I like the old stuff best, but I also like discovering new things, new music, new places to go, new concepts or alternate opinions. I enjoy learning. I read everyday, whether it's a book, the news, articles about science or history and I love to share.
At times I have a brooding personality and I get wrapped up into the things going on in my headspace instead of the world, but I love to laugh, I love comedy. Sometimes I say things at the expense of others or myself, but it's always in jest. I like to make people laugh. I think having a sense of humor is important. It sounds cliche, but you have to laugh at yourself. You have to make monkey faces in the mirror at yourself, sometimes. If you do, you're not crazy.
I'm not into sports, although I do like skateboarding. I used to skate growing up. It was my life for quite a few years. At some point I just stopped. I love watching people skateboard though and I encourage it with my kids, just for fun. I don't like to watch sports on TV. I find it boring (again, except for skateboarding).
Music is a huge part of my life. I am into music like some people are into sports, or rebuilding cars, or any other thing people tend to obsess about. I collect Vinyl. I have dabbled in producing my own music and hope to get back to it some day. I like all music, except the afore mentioned above. I like Punk, Post-Punk, Industrial, Hardcore, New Wave, No Wave, French New Wave, (actual) Hip-Hop, Indie, Blues Revival, 80's, Electronic Glitch Space Tweaker Haunted-House Demon Disco, and so forth.
I also write. I have spent most of my life scribbling in notebooks. At some point I realized I was writing poetry and although it was mostly therapeutic, I hope to publish some of my writing at some future date.
I have three children, two teenage girls and a 9 year old son, who are some of the most interesting people I know. Just to be clear, all three of my children are with the same woman and we had them all during our 14 year marriage. I have been divorced since 2010. The kids are back and forth between my house and their mother's house, staying with each of us half the time. They are a big part of my life and I am a big part of theirs. I am a Dad as well as their Father.
After my divorce, I decided that I would go to back to school to earn a degree. I am taking a break from school this semester, but will return soon to continue earning my AA.
I have driven through all the US states except the states just north of New York (RI, MA, VT, NH, ME), Portland, OR, being my favorite city. I'd love to move there one day. I've also visited Nuevo Laredo in Mexico, just over the border from Laredo, TX. I want to travel more, and If I had the means, I would like to travel the world by boat, train, or car, but no planes, please. NO PLANES!
What I’m doing with my life
After focusing on raising my three children for the last 14 years and now divorced for the last three years, I decided that I would go to back to school to earn a degree. I am taking a break from school this semester, but will return soon to continue earning my AA.
I’m really good at
I seem to be good at keeping people around me laughing. I am a good listener. People are always unexpectedly telling me the most personal of things when we are alone. I don't know if it's the advice I try to give or if it's because I'm good at keeping secrets. I can play the piano by ear, I wouldn't say well, but I can pick up tunes.
Although I have not been able to focus long enough to be able to master any musical instrument, as a DJ I am able to reinterpret other peoples music to the point that I've created something unique. I have been spinning records since I was 17. Before that though, I used to make mixes with cassette tapes by recording dance songs or rap songs off the radio or from other cassettes and then making extended mixes to another cassette. I could even simulate "record scratching" sounds, or something close to it, on the mixes.
I have an ability to read a crowd and keep people moving and having a good time when I'm spinning records.
The first things people usually notice about me
I have big hands. I have dimples on my cheeks when I smile.

Six things I could never do without
My Children
Homemade Ice Tea
I spend a lot of time thinking about
String Theory, Time Travel, The nature of life and how humans cope with it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Spending time with my children, because they come to my house after school on Friday afternoon, to visit with me for the weekend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Anytime I hear "Safety Dance" by Men Without Hats I dance safely, but wildly. It's mi jam. In fact, I feel Men Without Hats is one of the best bands that barely got noticed in the 80's and the album, Rhythm of Youth, on which the 1982 single Safety Dance resides on, is and excellent album in it's entirety.
You should message me if
You are single and looking to get to know a man who is eclectic in his interest and taste. A woman who is fine with the fact that I have three children and that they are my world. A woman who wants a friend, a lover and a partner in crime. A woman who still believes in love and meeting your soul mate is something that's just a matter of when. A woman who is feminine, but thinks for herself and doesn't take shit. Someone who is independent, but when she's in a relationship, is committed and looks out for her partner and expects the same in return. I am not looking for just a hookup. I am looking for the Juliet to my Romeo or the Sally to my Jack Skellington.
The two of us
