My self-summary
Hi, my name is Sarah and if I were a storybook character I would be a cross between Peter Pan (I'll never grow up) and Belle (ooh! books! giant library! pretty gold dresses!). I talk way to much - when I'm writing not so much all the time verbally. When trying something new I have this massive fear of following through but when I do follow through I do ok. I love puns (mostly because people dislike them so much) and parenthesis (humorous interjections for the win!).

I'm a book nut, I love words and language, I'm just a little shy, and I love computers and video games. Proud Geek! (I might also like exclamation points. I'm not sure yet)

I haven't been around recently so I have a little red dot of doom and no communication. I hope you won't let that deter you I promise I at least try to be sparkly and witty when you first contact me even if I'm saying no and especially if you try to do the same with me (show an interest, be sparkly and witty, refer to my love of parentheses). I prefer full sentences and at least a hint that you've read the (admittedly massive) introduction paragraph I've written.

What I'm looking for? I'm looking for fun and connection. Making new friends and having new experiences. I don't expect to want to be tied down though you can try to convince me otherwise I promise not to be annoyed. Last thing - I am not an A lister on this sight so please contact me don't star me. I can't see who likes me if you simply star me.

I look forward to meeting you =) (I also enjoy inserting smiley faces at the end of an essay to convey tone (told you I was part peter pan))
What I’m doing with my life
Traditional is not something you can apply to my life. I've actually had a few occupational hats on my head. Most recently I was dog/cat groomer for a grooming salon. I left that job because I was only moderately good at it and it wasn't a good fit. Now I'm training for a more flexible career in the hopes that I'll be able to go back to school for a History degree and on to grad school. I do have a goal to have a book job so I can go to BEA in New York. Currently targeting my local Barnes and Nobles. Feel free to contact me if you have a position available at an awesome indie bookstore.
I’m really good at
Buying books (many many books) or spending time at the library (In case I haven't communicated my love of books yet), Yelling at my TV when the video game is beating me, also going to new restaurants and dreaming of travel.
The first things people usually notice about me
I tend to think a bit before I say anything so a lot of people would say I'm quiet. That changes once you get to know me. Though I do tend towards the more socially awkward side of things especially in larger groups. Though I always win people over with my cute awkwardness (I hope, they can't see all the parentheses happening my head)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm huge into books and spend a lot of my free time reading. So if you're a book nut like me...wonderful!

Books: Les Miserables, Jim Butcher Dresden series, Mary Roach books (favorite is Stiff), Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, Possession by A.S. Byatt, Frost Burned by Patricia Briggs, Pablo Neruda poetry, Charles Bukowski, Mary Oliver, The Beauty of Humanity Movement by Camilla Gibb, Pretty much anything by J.K. Rowling, The Pickwick Papers (Dickens) and The Art of Eating by M.F.K Fisher. And there is much more. I also fine ebook irritating so expect lots of books.

Movies: Fight Club, The Avengers, Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Before Sunrise, Hellboy, and Kind Hearts and Coronets.

T.V: The West Wing, Elementary, Dexter, Person of Interest, Sherlock, Doctor Who, and Farscape (R.I.P).

Music: I'm very open when it comes to music. Most of the time I listen to podcasts but I have a wide collection of music as well...

Lemonheads, Adele, Arctic Monkeys, Audioslave, The Ramones, The Black Keys, Zack Brown Band, Brad Paisley, The Cat Empire, The Clash, Foo Fighters, Gaelic Storm, Grace Potter & The Nocturnals.
Six things I could never do without
Family, friends, books, my animals, and I always need hope as corny as that sounds. Hope keeps me going.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The next thing I get to be excited about and what the future might bring.
On a typical Friday night I am
Every now and then I'll go out with my favorite girlfriend for dancing and live music at local country music clubs though I do that mostly cause she enjoys it. I find I like drinking less though still have a soft spot for live music. Sometimes I'll go to events at Booksoup or lectures at LACMA. Good Times.
You should message me if
