My self-summary
I'm a very social person with a passion for words and art. I self-identify as a gamer and a nerd and have done so for decades (yep, since before it was cool). I have as much fun going out for a few drinks or a tasty meal with friends as I do staying in and nerding it up with my paints or a good book.
What I’m doing with my life
Five years ago I got into the gaming industry as an RPG producer. It was basically my dream job and panned out better than I could have hoped. About six months ago, I switched jobs within the company and am now an Art Director. Kind of a strange jump, but I have loved the opportunity to expand my artistic side and have spent every day since enjoying all the new things I'm learning and all the amazing artists I've worked with.

Other than work, I'm pretty content spending my off-hours working on one of my numerous hobby projects and maintaining a pretty active (some people have descibed it as "insane") social life.
The first things people usually notice about me
Definitely the beard. Hard not to notice something that big at eye-level.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love to read but find myself short on time. When I do read I tend to stick to crap pulp fantasy/sci-fi novels. I also love epic poetry and Medieval texts, but don't read them start to finish that often, more a story here and there. The gamer in me demands spending a good amount of time poring over gaming books. The new job actually requires that I read whole mess of gaming books. Now that's the sort of responsibility that I can handle!

I rarely ever WATCH movies or TV, I tend to only listen to them while doing other things, usually painting or writing. However, I love media. I love stories and plots and characters. There's really too many to name, but at any given time I'm in the middle of actively consuming two or three shows and an audiobook or two.

I tend to gravitate towards Metal, rock and hip hop. I enjoy funk, electronic, soul, and classic rock as well. As someone who hit puberty in the 90s, I will forever genuinely love the best and worst that that decade has to offer, though definitely with a bent towards the harder, darker side of it. I still listen to Nine Inch Nails all the damned time as they are my all-time favourite band. And of course as a gamer I enjoy the odd soundtrack (video game, film, or TV, whichever).

I. Love. Food. I don't cook as often as I like but I love to eat out and try new restaurants. I try to avoid fast food when I can but my schedule forces me into it from time to time. Indian food is by far my favorite culinary tradition, though Ecuadoran, Korean, and Hmong have been rocking my world lately.
Six things I could never do without
My Paints, My Friends, My Tunes, A Pencil and Pad (does that count as two?), My Beard (I tried getting rid of that once but it keeps coming back), my Imagination.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My newest (read: next) project, either for fun or for work. What should I paint next? What would be a cool scene in this RPG campaign? When should I sit down and start writing the background of this or that imaginary group, person, or event?
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably taking it easy with the roommate (living with your best friend of over two decades is pretty great, you guys) or hanging out with this or that friend.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm not really all that private of a person. Ask me anything, and I'm sure you'll get a straight answer.
You should message me if
If you are artistic, nerdy, open minded, and/or can handle a good dose of sarcasm.

Double-plus if you think it's silly that men are expected to make the first move. Triple-plus if you add to a conversation at least as much as I do. Especially since most women on here demand that a guy do better than one-line intros and responses. I only ask that if I put the work in, so do you.
