My self-summary
Well, I'd say I'm naturally curious, always up for some kind of adventure, and exceptionally smart (but aware that there are a lot of things I don't know). I'm always interested in meeting new people, exploring new things, and engaging in intelligent conversation.

A selection of things I like to do: go hiking, play golf (I only have to yell FORE!!! a few times each round) and tennis, try new restaurants (I have a big eating out budget), watch sports (I have always been a Dodgers fan), go jogging or for long walks (walking is the most underrated mode of transportation), visit parks and museums, and travel throughout the US- my goal is to visit all 50 states plus the territories (people often forget about those).

A quote to live by: "When I do good, I feel good. When I do bad, I feel bad. That is my religion." - Abraham Lincoln
What I’m doing with my life
Last year I earned a master's degree in Computer Science, and I am busy working in the software industry for a technology company. At least I act like I'm busy working.
At some point in the future I would like to teach computer science or start my own IT consulting business.

I'm hoping this is a beta version of my life, and at some point, a new and improved version will be available. Perhaps you are the element of my life that's currently missing.
I’m really good at
Solving puzzles,
Thinking logically (it's hard not to after having studied computing),
Being organized,
Getting to places too early because I hate being late,
Planning things out ahead of time,
Always having a Plan B and even a Plan C,
Not thinking of witty remarks until it's too late,
Having a vast knowledge of trivia, news, & politics,
Using new technology,
Having a good sense of direction (most of the time),
Learning new things quickly.
The first things people usually notice about me
I am a good listener, a very observant person, and I'll remember small details about things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: mystery/crime novels by authors such as Michael Connelly, and other random books that I come across- classic literature, and non-fiction books on topics such as education and health.

Movies: I like almost all genres (action, thrillers, historical dramas, documentaries). Good movies I've seen over the past year- Argo, Looper, Ted, and Skyfall. A few other movies I like- Lord of the Rings, Inception, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Pan's Labyrinth, Jurassic Park, and all Pixar movies.

Shows: Parks & Recreation, Community, The Amazing Race, Modern Family, The Simpsons, The Daily Show & Colbert Report, CSI, Person of Interest, Shark Tank, Bates Motel, and food/cooking shows (I'm interested in cooking but hardly get the chance to). Currently watching Under the Dome, The Killing, and The Bridge.

I'm also a big fan of Cirque du Soleil and have seen many of their shows. If only I never stopped practicing juggling...

Music: different kinds including top pop/hip-hop/R&B songs, jazz, songs with cool instrumentals/electronic elements, and even some world music. Some artists that I have been listening to lately are Santigold, Ellie Goulding, Rihanna, Sade, Adele, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys, and Dido. I didn't realize I had a theme going of all female singers.

Food: Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Greek, and Thai among other cuisines. I'll try almost anything at least once.
Six things I could never do without
(1) TV, (2) computer, (3) my family, (4) my car, (5) sunshine, and (6) modern medicine.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The future- my career path, places I want to go/travel to, things I want to do.
What my life would be like in a parallel universe where I made different decisions.
How some events seem like too much of a coincidence to not be controlled by a higher power.
Why are we always "becoming"? Becoming educated, becoming independent, etc. When do we stop becoming and finally "be"? My whole life has been about getting somewhere. When will I "be" there?

And now on the less serious side:
Why Maya Angelou would agree to do a TV commercial for a bank. Does she need the money or do banks now have poetry readings?
Why after reading a news article stating that half of ground turkey packages in the U.S. tested positive for fecal bacteria I decided to have a turkey burger for lunch.
On a typical Friday night I am
Going out to dinner, watching a movie, seeing a play and/or relaxing at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Whenever I start feeling self-conscious about my looks, I hang out in Walmart for a couple hours. I'm sure you're aware of the type of people that shop there.
You should message me if
you have anything to say: a question, short comment, long essay on the meaning of life, joke, insult, etc.

your idea of wit is nothing more than an incisive observation humorously phrased and delivered with impeccable timing.

you think Chipotle is overrated. Don't get me wrong, I think it's good. I just don't understand why some people love that place so much.

you want to go to Festival of the Arts & Pageant of the Masters in Laguna Beach. I always hear about it every summer, but I've never gotten around to going.
