**I also ought to note that due to OKC, I am now taken. However, I'm far too lazy to change my profile.
I’m twenty-three and I like to write, I seem to have a natural talent for it. My only natural talent and sadly, I neglect it. I suppose I could write a novel, but I’m not terribly creative, it’s Odin’s—Praise Him—curse upon me. Graced with an ability to write, but I’m unable to think up anything really compelling to write about.
I’m not much of a partier, but I do enjoy going out to one now and then just to meet some new people and have my quota for social interaction fulfilled. I’m quiet and introverted, so you won’t often find me talking to many people openly, unless of course, I know them very well or I’m very, very drunk in which case, I become outgoing and talkative. Though, in the past few weeks, I've actually become quite fond of going to the goth club every weekend or every other weekend, depending on circumstances. No, I'm not a goth, I just happen to enjoy the aesthetics, dancing and general...outsiderness?
Despite being introverted, I often have issues holding myself from blurting things out. When people are talking, some unusual smart ass comment pops into my mind and I can’t help myself but to blurt it out, disregarding who I’m around. However, due to this I get myself into hot water a lot of the time. People who don’t know me very well have trouble understanding that I’m being facetious with my comments and often take me seriously, thinking I’m disturbed or that I’m just an outright asshole. I tend to be cynical and sarcastic a lot of the time and I have to say, I like it.
I'm a huge nerd, there's no doubt about that. It comes in a ton of different facets for me, from loving to learn, being obsessive about music, being a massive computer gamer and loving to build/tweak PC's. I'm also really, really into science, especially Astronomy.
I have a ridiculous obsession with my music, which is also another geek side of me. I tend to know all these useless facts and genre information about the music. I generally keep my music to myself though, because there aren’t many people out there who appreciate the particular styling; yet if anyone even shows a remote interest, I'm typically off spending a long time compiling songs into a nice compilation. I like to collect albums and will seek out rare releases because they’re A) Rare and B) Typically awesome. I’ve also begun to collect vinyl and have amassed quite a few albums already. It’s one of my favorite things to do—collect albums—and I’m a little annoyed when I don’t have the money to buy a few each month or so. In relation to my music obsession, I like to go to a lot of concerts, typically held in bars or at small venues. They’re usually only $10-$20 a piece, so I can’t afford not to go. I’ve met some of my favorite bands this way and I must say, it’s an utterly fantastic experience.
I rarely drink (well, I ought to say, I rarely get drunk. I drink socially), but I like beer. Especially discovering new types that were previously unknown to me. Bud Lite and PBR need not apply, I have issues choking down cheap beer.
I also have an odd obsession with having to know how things work, no matter how small or inane. If I find something new that I haven't seen before, I'll observe it and do my best to try and figure out how it works.
There’s a tendency with me to get into new hobbies and fully embrace them, only to lose interest soon after. This happens often, I find myself researching new things and getting extremely hyped about something, wanting to buy something, etc and then only a few days later (maybe a week or two), I don’t care about it anymore. However, this doesn’t apply to music, computers or any of my permanent hobbies I’ve had. Because of course, if that were true, they wouldn’t be permanent, would they?
I also can’t sufficiently sum myself up within the context of this profile you’re reading.
I'm passionate about politics. I really, really like discussing politics. However, they make me extremely cynical and drive me to have a general hatred towards most politicians. I'm not talking about just having an opinion either, I'm not interested in your mere opinion on one subject or another. I'm interested in analyzing political policies and implications.
Edit (1/7/08): I just received my new camera and thus, have taken up photography. I'm still learning the ins and outs, but so far, it predict I'm going to have a blast. Canon Rebel XT, for those who are curious.
I am cynical, facetious, and afraid of zombies
I've decided that after I graduate, I'm getting a job and then moving to New York City. I've never lived or been to a big city before, so I'm hoping I can find some people to room with who I can make friends with and they'll show me the ropes. It'll be an interesting experience.
Hanging out and having a good time with my friends, or by myself.
I'm also pretty good at building PC's.
A) "Are you high?" No, no I'm not. My eyes have some sort of natural stoner look to them and I can't answer you as to why.
B) "How big are your feet?!" They're size fifteen. Yes, I have clown feet and shopping for shoes is a bitch.
Food: Anything I can consume is pretty awesome.
Movies: Whatever I'm in the mood for, Army of Darkness, Evil Dead. Nothing in particular, mostly comedies. I generally don't tolerate horror movies (gore, yawn) the ONLY exception to this rule is zombie movies. I effing LOVE zombie movies. I don't care how bad it is, how gory it is, how stupid it is, all I care about: Does it have zombies? When is the soonest I can see it?
Books: Philosophy, Science, Fiction. I've just finished World War Z by Max Brooks, Already Dead by Charlie Huston and The End of Faith by Sam Harris. Next up on my list is A Brief History of Time and The Universe In A Nutshell by Stephen Hawking.
Television: Arrested Development (I'll miss you, greatest show ever made), The Office, Heroes, Lost, The Universe, NOVA, Burn Notice (Bruce Campbell!!!!!!!!!), Psych, The Soup, Robot Chicken, Futurama, (Old) Simpsons, Firefly, Mythbusters, Survivorman (Les Stroud is totally awesome and my current man crush), Aliens in America, Reaper, Cowboy Bebop, Does Conan O'Brien count?
Out of sheer curiosity, I'm going to post my FAVORITE (this doesn't include ALL the music I have) bands. I want to see how long the list is...But for the record, I've always thought these were a bit cliche. However, I'll post one, because maybe it'll get some more people to look at my profile, hah:

Everything. I'm really oblivious to my surroundings because I'm off in my head. I pay attention just enough to avoid obstacles and cars when crossing streets. People usually think I'm an asshole because I "ignore" them when they say hi to me, or acknowledge me. I'm really not. I just don't pay attention, because I'm up in my own head, thinking about whatever. A particularly bad ass riff, philosophy, science, random inane crap. It's completely unintentional that I ignore people, sorry.
Why the purple Sweettarts always break apart in your mouth much easier than any of the other colors.
Fridays can consist of these things or playing D&D at a friends place--I'm a nerd!--or going to a bar and just hanging out. Playing some pool and drinking a bit. It's just whatever happens to be going on on that particular night.
Just kidding, I hate raiding...
I like to silently mimic the vocal styles of my favorite bands. It makes me look like a total dork, but I can't help it. I also play a kickin' air guitar. Also related to music: When I'm listening to an album I particularly like, I tend to make my "evil" face. Further dorkiness, in the fact that it looks less like "evil" and more like "constipated". But hey, at least it looks cool in my head when I'm doing it.
I used to FEAR cats. People would put cats near/on me just to watch me panic and freak out.
You have a zombie survival plan. Technically, I guess it's okay if you DON'T have one, but it's your funeral. Or, rather your reanimated corpse walking around. I'm fairly safe...are YOU? Can YOU afford NOT to have a zombie survival plan? No-no you can't.
Also, you ought to know the secrets of REAL Ultimate Power
I'm not religious in the slightest, but feel free to message me if you are. I'm not going to deride you or anything, I enjoy a good discussion on theology and religion. I'm not out to convert anyone, I just like to talk about it.
You want a casual date. I'm not looking for a relationship right now--if one develops though, I wont complain--but I am looking for a casual date. No sex needed or wanted, just going out to dinner, maybe a movie or a pub or something. Ideally, you wouldn't mind going halfsies.
