You've caught me at an interesting point in my life. I'm starting over, making some long-term goals happen, but unsure as ever about which direction I'm pointing in. I've spent my life moving around, never staying in one place for more than a few years, but I'm nearing the end of that cycle (hopefully).
I've been a lot of things in my life. A military brat, an almost marine biologist, a writer for a few old video game sites, a receptionist at a 24 animal hospital, and now happily directionless. I've realized over the years that big plans aren't for me. I've done a lot of things, and been good at many of them. There isn't one all-consuming love I have for any particular career or field. I'm happy as long as I've got people I care about and the time to spend with them.
In the meantime, I get by with a little help from my geek scene. I love powerful stories, whether they're from books, comics, movies, games, or friends, and I hope that, one day, some might come from me.
Until then, I'm taking in the beauty of the nearby mountains and trying new things. If you've got any suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
- Pretending I'm in a music video when listening to music I like
- Getting excited about new episodes of my shows.
- Pretending that I know what I'm talking about
I also have 5/8" gauges in my ears. Past that, I've heard that I smile with my eyes, which I think means I squint a lot.
It's safe to assume if it involves comic book characters, progressive or classic science fiction, or anything generally considered nerdy, I'm into it.
- Great food! I don't care what type, as long as it's got flavor and isn't made with pieces of animals.
- A creative outlet -- be it a word processor, a pad of drawing paper, editing software, or arts and crafts.
- Geeking out with people I care about.
- My cat, Rory Williams.
- The feeling you get when a great song washes over you and fills you with feels.
-How hostile the world can be, and what can be done about it.
-What kind of super hero I would be.
-Crazy future technology, for better or worse.
-What it would be like to do really cool martial arts moves to do mundane tasks, like folding laundry or cooking dinner.
I'd love an excuse to go out and explore the Salt Lake City area.
You love playing board games and need an extra person to fill out the table.
You want to make my day (it's nice feeling noticed).
You want to talk about writing.
Bonus points if you want to nerd out with me over comics, games, and/or SCIENCE.
