My self-summary
I take every opportunity I can to learn new things, I've nearly always got something on my "to learn" list and am almost never without some sort of book or technical manual; a real nerd's nerd.

I also have found, at 32, that I have the social calendar of a helicopter-parented 14 year old, because I've decided that it's my turn to define what being a grown-up means, even if that means drum lessons, ice hockey and vocal recitals that I feel way too old for.
What I’m doing with my life
I've got a comfortable but stressful job Googling things and turning them off and then on again, but I also spend a lot of my time writing, rehearsing and performing music around the region in hopes that some day I can be a washed up rock star. I went to school for mathematics until I didn't. I still think math is the cat's meow.
I’m really good at
I'm really self aware but other than that I don't really know what I'm good at.
The first things people usually notice about me
The buttons on my hat: I try to collect one anytime I play with a band that has them available so I often spend the first few moments after meeting someone new awkwardly bowing my head so that they can peruse them.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: My favorite book is The Master and Margarita but I like tons of books from a wide variety of genres. I read a lot of comic books but I prefer short run books to the mainstays. I like stories that have an ending because long run books are so hard to jump into in the middle, and there's too much of most of them to start from the top.

Movies: I enjoy watching movies and have seen a ton. I'm willing to watch just about anything.

Music: Not Bon Jovi.

I'm not a very picky eater and will often mix styles and cultural influences when cooking because I prefer to cook experimentally. I have an extensive spice rack and I'm not afraid to use it.
Six things I could never do without
Some sort of vehicle to take me places
Some sort of instrument to create things
Some friends to talk with about anything and everything
I'm not too hard to please, so that's about it
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Random things; I like patterns and how they emerge and break down, and I like understanding the minutiae of how things work.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out playing a show, out for a drink, having friends over or just staying in with a good movie or show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
It was me.
