My self-summary
Just moved to NoVa, but have lived in the DC area a long time.

Let's get the cliches out of the way:
I love to travel. I've traveled around much of the US, Europe, and the Caribbean. And I'm always looking to expand the list.
I also love to dance. Whether it's swing (which I also teach), blues, or 80s, I relish getting out on the dance floor. They love me at weddings because I'm usually one of the first ones dancing.
I enjoy spending time with friends; whether it's in restaurants, bars, or someone's house(I mean who doesn't; there is a reason they are friends). We'll chat, play games, or instigate shenanigans.
What I’m doing with my life
Learning new things, whether for fun or for work. I'm lucky in that I love what I do for a living. I'm always figuring how to get things to work. Sometimes, I even get to figure out how to break things; which can also be a lot of fun.
I’m really good at
Crossing the line in just the right way. Sometimes I fail miserably, but that usually leads to interesting stories.
Figuring out how things work and getting them to work; and it's a good thing that I'm very proficient at this, since that's my job.
Reading instructions. You would be surprised (or maybe not) how many times I've been asked to figure something out that is easily explained in the manual.
Things I'm not good at: writing a dating profile.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height... kind of hard not to.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I enjoy a wide range of things. Also, my favorites depend on my mood; so depending on when you ask me, you may get different answers. The following lists are by no means exhaustive.

TV: Firefly, Community, The Daily Show, How I Met Your Mother, The Big Bang Theory, Game of Thrones, Archer, Better Off Ted, Doctor Who, Anamaniacs, Craig Ferguson

Movies: The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Star Wars (Episodes IV-VI), The Fifth Element, Barbarella, Dead Poets Society, Hudson Hawk

Books: Douglas Adams, Terry Pratchet, Shakespeare, Tolkien, Catch 22, A Song of Ice and Fire, various histories

Music: I listen to most types of music; but I prefer 80s New Wave, Brit-Pop, Classic Rock, Indie Rock, Big Band Swing, Jazz... especially music I can dance to.
Favorite bands include: Beatles, Pink Floyd, Rolling Stones, Rush, No Doubt, Garbage, They Might Be Giants, U2.
And of course, NPR. I know it's not music, but it's usually on in my car.

Food: I'll try almost anything. I have yet to go to a restaurant where I couldn't find something I liked.

Theater: Shakespeare (saw King Lear at the Globe in London, amazing), Les Miserable, Rusalka, Wagner's The Ring Series, Avenue Q.
Six things I could never do without
The is not much that I absolutely need (aside the basics needed for survival). The only thing that I could never do without is friends and family.

However, here are some things that do make life more fun:
Good Movies
And the time and money to do all the things I want to do.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My mind usually wanders to many different topics, but a lot of them are about travel and coordinating my various activities.

I enjoy keeping up to date on international and domestic affairs. I also try to understand why things happen in the world. And I like to ponder rhetorical questions...
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no typical Friday night. I may be doing any of the activities listed above.
