My self-summary
I recently started working in the Bay Area, and I'm looking to meet new people. Since moving out west I have become an avid hiker and camper. The guy sending snaps of mountain scenery while making his friends and family back east jealous? That's me. I prefer being outdoors to indoors, even in the rain. I think travelling is one of the best uses of money. I love exploring new places and finding hidden, peaceful pockets of nature. I am a firm believer in lifelong education, which is why three years after my degree I find myself taking courses and writing more exams. Self deprecating math (not meth) addiction? Check.

I have a deep appreciation for science and am fascinated with how people can delude themselves into ignoring evidence for climate change. I like to think. Probably too much. I keep an open mind and enjoy the occasional philosophical discussion. As a well-known philosopher once said, "The unexamined life is not worth living." I try to keep well-rounded which entails striving for work-life balance. Life may get busy, but you always make time for the things and people that are important.

Being active is important, and I play sports or exercise most days of the week. Not to mention long walks where I do the majority of my aforementioned thinking. I'm looking for someone to share these activities with and who loves to explore!
What I’m doing with my life
Working my 9-5, daydreaming about mountains, studying for my next exam
I’m really good at
Playing piano- I've played for many years and try to keep it up whenever I have time. There are few things more rewarding than creating music.

Math. The language of the Universe. I really enjoy working with numbers.
The first things people usually notice about me
My sense of humour (or apparent lack?). Deadpan sarcasm is hard to detect when you first meet someone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, the Discworld series, the Foundation series, anything by Neil Gaiman, Dan Simmons. Currently on a Steven Erikson binge.

Television: Arrested Development, Modern Family, Community, Archer, Battlestar Galactica, Firefly, Star Trek, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, Seinfeld, The 100, Orphan Black, Rick & Morty

The six things I could never do without
The Ocean
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The universe and my place in it (or lack thereof).

If time travel is possible, and if so when I would go.

Climate change, and what role I have to play as an individual.
On a typical Friday night I am
Out at a friend's place or at a pub. Though a night in watching movies is always enjoyable.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a Leafs fan. I think the associated embarrassment level has peaked this past season.
You should message me if
You're looking for some interesting conversation and you love nature.
