Just back from Peru and looking forward to summer's arrival in Columbus for festival and patio season!
What makes me tick? Curiosity; thinking outside the box; doing what people say cannot be done; changing the world through continuous improvement. I enjoy sarcasm, a good laugh and most importantly a mental challenge. I believe that career, goals and ambition are important. I put a lot of energy into my job, but I recognize there is more to it than that and I try to find the right balance.
I have a great appreciation for life and try to make the best of every day. I have an insatiable curiosity to explore new places, to try new things and to meet new people. This has led me to travel all across the globe- climbing the Great Wall in China; skydiving over Las Vegas; riding camels in Dubai; whitewater rafting in Switzerland -with plenty more to do on the “bucket list”. Recent adventures have included Australia, Iceland, and a few Caribbean Islands. Local adventures should not be overlooked – Columbus is an ever evolving city with new restaurants, markets and events popping up all the time.
What's the best "new" thing you've done lately?
- Volunteering for causes I care about
- Traveling as much as possible
- Trying to figure out what comes next
- Mentoring LSS students & newly minted engineers about careers
- Cooking (or so I'm told)
- Solving Problems (it's my job, so that helps)
- Spending fall weekends watching football
- Spontaneous new adventures locally (restaurants, activities, shows, bands, etc.)
- Planning thoughtful gifts for others
- Attending charity events
I know quite a bit about a lot of random subjects
Movies - love action & adventure with an occasional comedy thrown in. Looking forward to the new Captain America and X-men movies this summer.
Books- I’m an avid reader and have no doubt supported the Amazon stock price through my Kindle purchases. I enjoy business psychology oriented books (Gladwell, Levitt, etc.) and political non-fiction (Berry, Rollins, Metzler) as well as multiple internet articles on business, finance, investing, political, economic, pop culture, and travel stuff.
Last book (as recommended by Bill Gates) was Hyperbole and a Half by Allie Brosh. It had me laughing so hard my stomach hurt!
Good food & whiskey (or wine)
Things I prefer to think about include where my next vacation will be and how to make anything better
You think we'd have great chemistry and entertaining conversations.
You've got drive, focus and a passion for life!
