My self-summary
I'm blunt but polite. Put together but pretty laid back. Broke but I'm happy? I'm poor but I'm kind? I'm short but I'm healthy, baby? And what it all comes down to...

Okay, you got me. That devolved into an Alanis Morissette song.

But really, I love to laugh about (and at) anything; witty banter is kind of my favorite thing. I'm just looking for genuine, thoughtful people to share experiences with!
What I’m doing with my life
I just started internal medicine residency in July! I'm new to the city (from Florida) and am totally up for adventuring around.
I’m really good at
Listening to what people have to say. (And then judging them). Only kidding! People are so intriguing to me, and I think different viewpoints make life that much more interesting.

Finding humor in things. I might come off as a “serious” at first, but underneath it all, I’m probably chuckling to myself.

Also, I’m not gonna lie – I’m pretty good at baking desserts. When I was younger, I wanted to be a pastry chef. I can make a mean white chocolate mousse tart topped with glazed strawberries.
The first things people usually notice about me
It would probably have to be my RBF.

No joke, multiple friends have diagnosed me with Resting Bitch Face, a condition for which there is still no permanent cure :'(

But don't let it deceive you. When you make me laugh, it goes away
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books – I’m a sucker for dystopian fiction. Don’t know why I like to read about how terrible our world could end up, but I can’t help it. Some classics – Farenheit 451, Brave New World, A Clockwork Orange, 1984, The Giver. Super Sad True Love Story (scary how accurate that one feels).

More books – Lolita might be one of my favorite novels, and I’m not sure what that says about me. Love in the Time of Cholera is another favorite. I've recently been on a John Irving kick after reading The World According to Garp. Anything by Dave Eggars or David Sedaris is usually going to make me pretty happy, too.

Movies – Amelie is just so whimsical and romantique - and the colors are fantastic. The Royal Tenenbaums and Rushmore are two of my favorites from Wes Anderson. Her was also amazing and got me right in the feels. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dr. Strangelove, Man on Wire, The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, 3 Iron, and The Little Mermaid

Shows – Mostly Netflix. I loved Master of None. So well done and relatable to me. Girls. OITNB. Arrested Development was also amazing. I think I'm the only person who's never watched Game of Thrones

Music – I’m into a lot of low-fi, dreamy music these days. Beach House’s Teen Dream hasn’t ever really fallen out of my rotation. Also into Youth Lagoon, James Blake, Grimes, Flume. I still love me some Feist, Grizzly Bear, Cat Power, Neko Case, Girls, oh... and Mariah Carey

Food – I love it. All of it. Well, most of it. The only thing I don’t like is cilantro, which I really detest. But other than that, I love anything with a little spice (Thai, Korean, Indian). Or seafood. Or anything, really.

Drinks – They deserve their own category, right? I really like IPA’s and Belgian beers. La Fin du Monde is really great. I've been into bourbon drinks lately and am trying to perfect my old fashioned. As for coffee, French press all the way!
The six things I could never do without
1. Laughter
2. Good conversation
3. Fresh coffee
4. My computer/internet/phone
5. Traveling/vacation/new experiences
6. Good friends (aww..)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I’m going to travel next (I went to Turkey, Greece, Costa Rica, and Korea this year!)
What makes people tick
On a typical Friday night I am
Enjoying the company of my friends. Having a few drinks at a bar. Losing track of time.
You should message me if
You want to show me around the city and explore.
If you know of cool outdoors-y things to do nearby.
You want to tell me an awesome joke.
You want to watch Game of Thrones from the beginning. Not kidding. I've only seen the first episode!
