I am a blue-haired baker.
I keep saying I'm going to get around to re-writing this, but it never seems to happen... so for now approximately zero of the below is accurate...tread carefully ;P
I identify as Pansexual
I'm moving to Edinburgh in September, I know absolutely no one there, so new friends would be awesome! (now in Edinburgh just too lazy to update this)
It turns out my inability to sumarise myself isn't limited to just internet profiles - it invades my day to day life as well. We've been doing a lot of playing silly youth work games at work recently - two truths and a lie seems to be a current favourite - at least with everyone but me! I've taken to recyling the same triplets of facts on a weird cycle system, only I think I've told some of my 'lies' so often I've started believing them myself.
Here are some triplets of things about me - I'll leave you to ponder on the truthfullness of some of them...
I used to skate with a roller derby team.
I've swum with sharks (I'm also English which apparently means I can't pronounce 'Shark' properly)
I used to box.
I enjoy rock climbing, caving and abseiling.
Bands I've seen include:
The Rolling Stones
God, how cliche and overused is that!
I do youth work type stuff, 'tis awesome! Ask me about it about and I'll bore you to death for hours ;)
I do far too much vegan baking... and far too much eating of aforementioned cakes! Anyone who wants to save my waistline by helping me out is welcome to apply ;P
I'm also trying to learn to knit, and make jewellery and other such crafty things! Current attempts are dodgy to say the least though :P
I am terrible at bigging myself up though :P
Judging by the screams of 'HAIR!!!' that follow me everywhere, I'm going to hazard a guess it might be that!
(it's currently short, blue and half shaven - in case you were wondering)
I've just finished reading The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson which I really enjoyed it's a lovely story and really well written.
I seem to be going through a Philip K. Dick phase.
I loved Fight Club by Chuck Palahniuk, I finally got round to reading it the other week after years of saying I would.
Also got around to reading Let The Right One In by John Ajvide Lindqvist, I watched the film when it came out in April so felt it was about time I read the book it was adapted from, dare I say the best book I've ever read, maybe not but it's got to be up there.
The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess
Graphic Novels: From Hell, Watchmen (in fact anything Alan Moore has touched)
Movies: I'm really into trashy horrors.
I recently watched Let the Right One In which is a really beautiful film.
Music: Apocalyptica, Metallica, Nine Inch Nails, Lordi, Nirvana, Red Hot Chili Peppers, AFI (the old stuff) Placebo, Nickelback, Black Stone Cherry, The Offspring, Rise Against, Rammstein, Slipknot, Stone Sour, HIM, The Rasmus, David Bowie, The Cure, Queen. I could keep writing forever and never get through them all.
Food: Anything as long as it's vegan, and not mushrooms or bananas
People, company and conversation
Music - live or recorded - I just need noise!
After that I'm easy...
Playing with the cat, the cat is new, the cat is awesome!
I'm often to be found at a gig... anywhere there is decent music and awesome people!
If not I'm probably down the pub with the lads, putting the world to rights over a pint...
(I have a serious lack of 'lads' in Edinburgh - applications for the roles of 'lads' are open and not necessarily limited to males)
Or if you know of any bands that I might like that I might not know of.
