My self-summary
Heya!!! Married Michelle365 on March 25th, 2012, so I've been avoiding OKCupid. Notes to me may or may not be replied to. Michelle and I have OKCupid to thank for introducing us. :-D

I`m funny, and can be corny, self-deprecating, dark, acerbic, and silly. I am honest to a fault, and very caring. I am generally polite, deferential, and engaging. I like movies, pop-culture, TV, reading, over-analyzing, and napping. I get passionate about things and people that I love - favorite books, shows, NTN, ideas, etc... I`ve gotten into Texas Hold`em, in the past couple years. I also like other games (board, video, you name it). Love HomeStarRunner, Reddit, and Hulu.

I`m hirsute and stocky. However, you know what they say, `Once you go stock you never go, um, bock.` Okay, maybe they don't say that. But they should. I have an unused degree in Studio Photography. I drink very rarely, but like Amaretto drinks and straight Jagermeister. Much to the confusion of those around me.

I`m disease-free.

I don't do recreational drugs (anymore), though I have little to no problem with people that do them (as long as you're not addicted - and yes, I put alcohol in this category, though cigarettes and caffeine are okay). I'm heavily pro-decriminalization on the topic of "what you put inside your body."

Go check out my tests. You might like 'em. :-)

I found this awesome piece on dating geeks. While I don't match 100% of this, I do fit a good deal of it.

Here is a snapshot of my personality: expressive, open, self revealing, loves large parties, loud, social, outgoing, does not like social isolation, assertive, social chameleon, positive, always busy, likes to fit in, likes to stand out, enjoys leadership, brutally honest, trusting, optimistic, desires attention, dominant, aggressive, attachment prone, wants to be understood, realistic

I am wise, waggish, and winsome
What I’m doing with my life
I work on a busy IT Help Desk for a privately owned, Family entertainment company. I like watching TV, movies, reading, showering my daughter with affection, and napping. Yes, I have no idea what the round yellow thing in the sky is. Not that I'd be adverse to learning about it, though.

My OkCupid "award" of being "More Republican" should be coupled with my award for being "More Socially Free" --- I'm a Libertarian - I did not, nor have I ever, voted Republican. Likewise, I've only ever voted for a Democrat once. And it wasn't in this last election. Believe it or not, I felt that Bush was such a horrible leader - and enemy of Freedom - that I voted for Kerry in 2004. I hated doing it. And as it turned out, Virginia went to President George W. MonkeyMan, anyway. But there you are. My one time voting against my conscience. Insofar as the last election, I did not vote for Obama (I went back to voting Libertarian) -- but somewhere deep down, I was kind of rooting for him, anyway.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
my smile... my shaved head... my facial hair... the fact that I'm staring at their boobs as if I'm trying to use heat vision to melt butter (haha - I'm kidding, I'm kidding!!! Actually, I am very good at NOT gawking at breasts outside the bedroom)... the butterflies that flitter around my person...

I wear Chucks (Converse High Tops) all the friggin' time. And in colder months, a long black leather trench. No, I'm not trying to look like Silent Bob (regardless of how much I like Kevin Smith).

Let's call this next paragraph the, "Don't Say I Didn't Warn You," part of the profile.

* I am full of knowledge, and like to show it off. This can sometimes appear as boastfulness.

* My humor can be quirky at times. I like to joke about inappropriate things, at times - and I hate having to explain my jokes. But I will if you don't laugh! Sometimes, my references are obscure. ;-)

* I am a responsible adult, but I like to act like a kid sometimes. Sometimes. It's part of my resistance to growing old.

Oh, I'm allergic to cats, which is a shame, because I kind of like them. Which means if you have them, and things work out, we'll be spending most of our time at my house. Or I'll be heavily drugged up at yours (and probably fighting to stay awake). Don't get me wrong - I like cats, but if I touch them, I have problems breathing (and I like to breathe!) and my eyes swell up like Rocky Balboa's. And that's not hyperbole.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
a) mostly Sci-Fi and Fantasy, but I have been known to read other genres, too. Favorites include: stuff written by Philip K. Dick, Stephen King, Robert Silverberg, Douglas Adams. George R.R. Martin, Jack Chalker. Aldous Huxley, George Orwell, John Boyd, Walter Miller, Chuck Palahniuk. Albert Camus. Alan Moore, Frank Miller, Neil Gaiman. My favorite poets include e.e. cummings, Emily Dickinson, Charles Bukowski.

b) Fight Club, Annie Hall, Brazil, Monty Python and the Life of Brian, Pulp Fiction, Highlander, Singles, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, The Princess Bride, This is Spinal Tap, The Graduate, Office Space, A Christmas Story ("'ll shoot your eye out, kid!")

c) The Beatles, Queen, The Pixies, They Might Be Giants, Jethro Tull, the Grateful Dead, Paul Simon, XTC, Electric Light Orchestra, Liz Phair, Cocteau Twins, Men Without Hats, The Kinks, old Chicago, The Cure, The Smiths

d) crab legs, shrimp, Macaroni and Cheese, spaghetti and meat sauce, lo mein (w/ well-made crab rangoon), well marinated steak (very infrequent). These days, I'm trying to keep my carbs down. Because I could literally eat two pounds of pasta a day if I wanted.

e) TV-wise, I love everything that Joss Whedon touches, like Firefly, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, and now Dollhouse. The reimagined Battlestar Galactica series was perhaps the best non-comedy on TV. Rome was a stellar show, Life on Mars blew me away, every episode (and the last fifteen minutes of the series finale took me by complete surprise!), The Office, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, Lost, Doctor Who (it was my favorite show while I was growing up - and the new episodes are pretty cool), Star Trek (some of the series, some of the time), and Heroes (so nice that its finally starting to get good again). Family Guy. South Park. Scrubs. Mystery Science Theatre 3000/RiffTrax. I also TiVo (and sometimes even watch) Attack of the Show and X-Play. I also like some Reality Shows (in that "can't turn away from the trainwreck" kind of way). Also, any show that makes me think - I find myself tuning into stuff on Discovery-type channels more than I can say. I am looking forward to A Game of Thrones when it finally airs on HBO.

f) My favorite actors are Gary Oldman and Clancy Brown. My favorite stand-up comics include David Cross, Mitch Hedburg, Bill Hicks, and Patton Oswalt. I love Penn and Teller and Tenacious D (both acts peel back the veil covering their respective arts)
Six things I could never do without
Digital Video Recorders, reading, snuggling, the Internet, games, and of course my daughter. As a seventh, I have fallen in love with my work iPhone. Damn you, Steve Jobs!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
the nature of the universe, what I am doing at that second, my direction in life, my own mortality (Valar Morghulis), and alliteration
On a typical Friday night I am
at home, hanging with a friend, or on a date
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
The cake is a lie.

Also, that "Message me" button at the top of the screen? Sometimes I misread that button as "Massage me." And then I start laughing like a mental patient. Also, I hate the fact that "stalkers" became "visitors." Yes, having a stalker is bad, but that is nothing compared to having alien lizard men that eat mice! I mean, really!

I am honest to a fault. And when I do lie, I always do so jokingly. Mostly.
You should message me if
You must like receiving back rubs and foot rubs!!! ;-)

I like short girls and redheads and geekettes but the lack of these three attributes are by no means a deal breaker. While I am not looking for love, marriage, and more kids, I am not adverse to those things, if they happen to come along.

As everyone says (and this should be assumed) contact me if you think we could be a match.

Ah, the hell with that --- contact me even if you don't think we could be a match. I might surprise you. :-)

Women between 26 and 43 are preferred, but mature younger women, or playful older ones, might be fine, as well. :-D
