My self-summary
Growing up I was one of those 'gifted' kids during school. Rampant drug abuse during my first attempt at college (something I constantly think about), which then led to me enlisting in the Naval Nuclear Power Program (which is supposed to be the elite of the training programs, such a shitty 18 months of 8 hour days of school and reactor operations in a military environment)

I was in the US Navy between April 2004 - September 2013. While in the service I was a nuclear reactor operator (4 1/2 years) on a guided missile submarine in the Pacific Northwest and then a radiological control technician in Pearl Harbor (2 1/2 years). Thanks to getting sick while I was in the service, I can't really see out of my left eye (who needs depth perception anyway?, and hello disability payments)

I am a generally quiet person, but once I get to know a person I open up a great deal

I have used electronic cigarettes for the last 5 years, and have not smoked a real cigarette in over two years. There is no way I would go back to smoking, and as such I can't stand the smell of it anymore.

Things that I like doing:

Visiting breweries (been to about two dozen so far)
Drinking micro brewed beer (I think I am up to 600 different beers)
Making my own beer (my habanaro ale is outstanding)
Watching hockey and soccer, I will watch football every once in a while
Playing racquetball
Swimming (was a decent swimmer when I was younger, too bad I lacked the foresight back then to apply myself)
Going on road trips (I've driven all over the country and barely visited less than half the states)
Attending concerts and dive bars with live music
What I’m doing with my life
Pondering the decision to stay in Arizona and work at the Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station near Buckeye, go to Oregon State for a degree in radiological studies, stay in community college until I find something better, or just submit an application for a radiological control job with the DOD outside of Seattle
The first things people usually notice about me
I am reserved in social situations; however, I can hold a conversation if someone else initiates it. I generally don't like dealing with people

Or perhaps it could be the half-sleeve I have on my right forearm
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Game of Thrones
Agents of Shield
True Detective (that is some seriously excellent writing and acting)
Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

As for genres of books, I usually steer towards hard science fiction

Music? My preference is for metal or hard rock. Lately I have been following post-rock, post-metal, and various instrumental/electronic bands. Seeing a band live is much better than listening to it from your speakers (Muse was by far the best concert I have been to)
Six things I could never do without
Micro brews
Something to read
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Outrageous engineering ideas. Also world domination
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably going through reddit
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have never actually been in a real 'relationship'

I want to say I was too busy while I was in the Navy for a relationship, but it just boils down to having no 'game' whatsoever. It doesn't help that I am used to being alone
You should message me if
You are also a godless 'heathen'
You do not smoke cigarettes (vaping is quite okay and cigars are fine once in a while)
You know the difference between ABV of different drinks and their effects (responsible drinkers only)
You do not have children (I am not a kid person)
You possess a healthy sense of humor and enjoy sarcasm

If you want to know more about me

Do not message me if you:

-- are religious
-- are vain
-- have children
-- are extremely self - centered
-- are materialistic
-- if you think a chunk of overpriced crystalline carbon means anything
