My self-summary
Born in NY and lived in NJ, FL and TX, I moved to NC seven years ago and absolutely love it. I've finally figured out that making a living shouldn't perpetually get in the way of actually living! It was a hard lesson to learn for a workaholic.
I'm a hopeful but realistic romantic. Admittedly unconventional and too easily amused by the absurdities of everyday life. I still think the glass is not only half full but should be raised in a toast every day that you're lucky enough to wake up.
I'll never drag you to a mall ( Probably because I abhor them as well). By the same token, unless we're under attack by zombies or aliens, I'm not inclined to drag out my survival skills ( aka hunting, fishing or camping), so you're on your own there.Of course if that zombie apocolypse happens, you might wanna' have me around....I'm great in a crisis and will still crack jokes during the worst of it. Think Tarantino heroine meets Bruce Willis in Die Hard
I do love the outdoors though. Sports quite simply, rock. I've never seen a roller coaster that I wouldn't ride ( hate the emotional kind though ). Drama belongs in the theatre. (I do miss Broadway) but there are great venues here and some great museums. It would be nice to share that with someone.
I don't care if you drive a Jaguar or a Jetta. Money and job titles don't impress me. A good sense of humor, intelligence and honesty do.
I admit to having Erin Brockovich moments of righteous indignation when confronted with injustice and inequality.( Have been on a sit in or two and picketed when necessary) I volunteer with local charities. In the midst of all of the above, my sense of humor is always in play and not always as PC as it should be.
I'm very outgoing, almost always upbeat, independent, honest and loyal.(and absolutely over writing this.) Passionate about life. Looking for my friend, lover ,a cohort in crime and adventure who isn't afraid to be a little goofy upon occasion.
What I’m doing with my life
Living it very happily! Yay!
I’m really good at
Apparently avoiding answering this question.
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes and my smile
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - I'm an avid reader who'll read anything with print, but prefer thrillers and action along the lines of Patterson, Evanovich, Dan Brown and Cornwell but also read non-fiction, leaning towards biographies.
Movies - Too many favorites to name, but prefer the action, thriler and comedy genre's. I also have a weakness for the " graphic novel" and "comic book" movies and zombie flicks. ( OK, I'm a geek). Amazingly I'm a traitor to my gender, since I have no liking for sappy chick flicks. I love the classics such as Casablanca, Rebel without a Cause and anything by Hitchcock.
Adore Monty Python both the movies and The Flying Circus. Die Hard franchise. Anything by Kevin Smith.(check out his Q&A's). Boondock Saints and of course Star Wars and Star Trek. That's right...both franchises.

Music is an intrinsic part of my life. I listen to most rock, classical, celtic, jazz, blues and show tunes but I have to admit techno and rap are not really for me. Some favorites are Springsteen, The Who, Train, Nicole Atkins, Nickleback, The Beatles, Bach,Raconteurs, Decemberists, Lyle Lovitt, Jack White, Black Keys, Ella Fitzgerald, Eagles, Cars, Heart and far too many to list and do justice to ...

Once upon a time in a galaxy far far away, I made a living as a front person in a number of bands and also as a sound and light tech, a stage hand and stage manager. Once a musician, always a musician and I am currently back to singing lead for a classic and alternative rock band.

Shows - CNN, A&E, The Blacklist, Comicbook Men, Luke Cage, Arrow, Marvel Agents of Shield, Dr.Who,
Law and Order- SVU, Two Broke Girls, The Walking Dead , Z Nation, Sherlock

Food - If it had a face and a pulse at some time, I'm in. Seriously though, all types of cuisine are fine. French to Fusion, it's all good.
Six things I could never do without
Affection, Music, Books, Sunshine , Laughter, Friends, Family, and since I don't give a rat's hairy behind about the rules, I know that's more than six. Maybe that darn smart phone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Too many things, as evidenced by what's written above and why OK Cupid is obsessed with Friday night only, when there are six other perfectly good nights to do all sorts of things. ( OK, I really don't spend a "lot" of time contemplating that, but seriously, only Friday?..)
On a typical Friday night I am
Depends on the Friday...I'm hardly typical so my Fridays aren't likely to be either....too many of them are spent working. I'm an figure it out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'll admit it in private. Guess we'll have to meet for you to find out. ( That sounds a lot more titillating than it actually is. I really don't have a whole lot to hide)
You should message me if
If you've gotten this far ...good for you. Take a chance and send me a message. Thanks for stopping by. If you are uptight, far right, ultra-conservative, homophobic, racist, think the Earth is larger than the Sun, are humorless, have issues with Darwin's Theory of Evolution or are a basically dark and pessimistic individual, More than 5 minutes in my presence will make your head explode and I hate cleaning up gray matter. ( think Scanners...extra points to any guy who even remembers that flick) If you listen to Hollywood Babble On or any Smodcast, know what they are or can dig going to Mad Monster Party or ConCarolinas you are beyond Han Solo Cool and have my absolute attention!
