My self-summary
My life's motto is "I'll try anything twice."

I'm a quick-witted, fun-loving, outgoing guy with an incurable case of wanderlust. Having lived and worked across the country, you might even call me a geographic oddity. I'm a mix of southern hospitality, east coast sensibilities, and west coast lifestyle. I'm an unabashed intellectual, and nothing stimulates me more than a quality discussion.
What I’m doing with my life
Recently arrived in Montana to work for the United States Forest Service. Working on my Masters in Parks and Natural Resource Management too. In case it wasn't pretty obvious, my personal politics tend to revolve around public lands. I love to be outdoors, and try to find and excuse to go backpacking, hiking, and camping whenever possible.

I joined this website in order to meet some new people and share some new experiences, be it roaming through the city, visiting a museum, going for a hike, or drinks at a bar.
I’m really good at
- Hiking, Backpacking, and Camping
- Making guacamole
- Fixing your computer
- Photography
- Assembling Ikea furniture
- Teaching
- Building a campfire
The first things people usually notice about me
I have a lot to say.

I'm also a HUGE comic book aficionado, especially Marvel titles from the 80's & 90's.

Other favorite authors include J.K. Rowling, Alan Moore, Nevada Barr, Richard Knaack, Weis & Hickman, Robert Jordan, Ursula Le Guin, R.A. Salvatore. I'm also partial to select works by classical authors, such as Twain, Thoreau, Kipling, and Hemmingway.

Also: Top Gear (BBC), Archer, The Newsroom, Family Guy, MythBusters, Californication, Last Week Tonight, Boardwalk Empire

I don't actually own a TV so everything I watch is streamed or downloaded.

For the most part I listen almost exclusively to heavy metal. If it's progressive, melodic or technical, I'll probably enjoy it. A lot of my favorite bands hail from regions such as Norway, Finland, Sweden, & the rest of Europe. I also have a strong appreciation for classic rock, and to a lesser degree blues, jazz, folk, and even classical. If it weren't for these pioneering genres then I couldn't enjoy metal as it exists today.

On a typical Friday night I am
On my days off, I enjoy going out and exploring - be it a museum, park, or merely losing myself in the streets of whatever town I happen to be in. As of late, I have been actively hiking, camping, and backpacking. As soon as the weather gets a few degrees warmer I'll be kayaking as well.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
- I have a penchant for sleeping in the buff.
- I secretly enjoy romantic comedies.
- I un-ironically love roadside tourist traps.
