My self-summary
My name is Mark and I live and work in Cheshire.

I like to think of myself as having a good sense of humour, being loyal to friends and family, generous and intelligent.

My interests include watching TV/films, reading comics and other fiction novels, playing computer games, listening to music and visiting the gym. Socially I am laidback and can sometimes be a little bit shy on first meeting but at other times can be the life and soul of the party.
What I’m doing with my life
Having graduated from the London School of Economics in the field of International Relations I am currently working as a Customer Relationship Contact for a National Financial Institution. This involves looking after high value corporate customers and I pride myself on a job well done. Whilst it is not the biggest challenge in the world, nobody gets off the phone to me without being properly serviced....

Having started a fitness regime last year, I am currently spending a lot of time in the gym and doing fitness classes. At the moment I do pilates, yoga, Tai Chi, circuit training, resistance training and power cardio. Oh and also step aerobics and legs bums and tums....You may not view these as manly pursuits but, all I can say is, don't knock it until you try it!

I can be very driven and determined once I set my mind on a goal and am looking for someone like minded who may be looking for a bit of adventure and companionship along the way.
I’m really good at
I have an excellent memory for general knowledge, am a master of the dark art of sarcasm and bawdy humour, have a quick wit and can definitely hold my own in any conversation.

I personally also think I’m really good at dancing when drunk but to be fair I don't think anyone thinks they are BAD at dancing when drunk!
The first things people usually notice about me
I am pretty tall at 6 ft 1 with very dark hair, albeit with encroaching natural, distinguished highlights....Ok, I am going slightly grey. I may have a beard, I may not, it depends on hor sartorially elegant I am feeling at the time and whether I am going for the bond villain look.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
A) Salman Rushdie; pulp fantasy such as David Eddings, steven eriksson,Robin Hobbetc; V by Thomas Pynchon is good as is Catch 22(not by Pynchon obviously). I love comics from the acceptable literature stuff such as The Sandman to all the heroes-I prefer DC to those who might care!

B) My favourite films are Royal Tenenbaums, Spirited Away and Rushmore. I love Studio Ghibli films and Wes Anderson but also like PT Anderson and Alexander Payne-films that seem to have something to say about the male condition such as Punch Drunk Love and Gran Torino strike a chord but I also like more obvious comedies such as Dodgeball and Anchorman.

C) Until recently I hadn't listened tomusic for a long time-I have a large and varied collection but have just never been in the mood until I got an I-Pod and started loading music onto it. I now remember how much a song can take you back to earlier events in your life and, pretentious I know, in some way reconnect with them. In terms of taste is I vary from modern Brit Rock such as Bloc Party and Maximo Park to doom metal like Isis, Cult of Luna and Old Man Gloom. I also have a somewhat excessive amount of what I like to call widdly indie acousto-electro wank like Sufjan Stevens, Bon Iver etc as well as the old favourites like Joy Division and the Smiths.

D) I love a variety of styles of food, mainly Italian, Indian and Chinese food along with the usual English Cuisine and will try most things once with the exception of fish or mushrooms
The six things I could never do without
1)TV-sad I know but shows like Peep Show, Family Guy, Mighty Boosh make life worth living.
2) My car-I am not a car person but I can't believe I lived without one as the level of freedom that you can attain is remarkable.
3)Wikipedia because sometimes you just have to know
4)My friends and family
5)The belief in my infinite potential I COULD be fitter, richer, more successful and prettier whenever I choose but choose not to...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
At university I spent a lot of time thinking about complex interactions between International societal structures. I like to think that I could still do this if I wished to but in my current life I am mostly thinking about food, TV and other modern concerns/interests. Although I do find it interesting to enter into verbal byplay with my colleagues and friends on whatever topics arise and enjoy debating.
On a typical Friday night I am
Drinking in the pub, at a friends or family members house, watching TV or on the internet.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
My first album was Aladdin the soundtrack and I am obsessed with the Lion King...
You should message me if
You are a well educated person with a sense of humour who is looking for a bit of adventure and companionship. I would love to meet someone who has similar interests, like to explore flights of fancy occasionally, loves to converse and is looking for companionship as I am.
