I avoid cliches, think that intelligence is slowly becoming the lost virtue, and hate talking about myself.
I am blunt, stubborn, and brutally honest, except of course when you just don't want to hear that crap.
I'm really into science. A lot. When I was a kid, I had one of those Big Book o' Science books that I would read everyday. Now, I strive to be a walking, talking, BBoS. I know so much info that it is pretty much guaranteed I can answer your questions. All of them.
I think music is the purest form of creation, although I enjoy all forms of art.
I'm really into video games. Mostly fighting games, although I play all sorts. Maybe I could play you online some time?
I love beer. Ok thats a little cliche but whatever I do so love it. And wine, also. But beer will always come first.
I like golf. There's only a few sports that you actually get better in the more you drink, and golf is definitely my personal favorite. I do enjoy all types of sports though, but only playing. I'm not a big fan of watching though, and I really don't see myself living vicariously through sports either.
I think it was John Waters who said we need to make reading cool again. If you go to someone's house and they don't have books, don't sleep with them.
I have a BS in psychology and a BS in biochemistry. The former is fun to know and the latter is fun to do. I plan to spend the rest of my life involved in biochemistry some how.
Spending way too much time on Reddit. Drop me a line! ToeCompton
I work part time at a cafe in Buckhead, and teach kids the joys of Biology at Georgia State.
I officially am a reformed smoker today (8/1/2012), having gone 2 weeks without a cigarette.
Also, pet owner
I think people think I'm some kind of Chad or "hey whats up brah?" type. This is not true. I have never been in a frat, never done a keg stand, abhor country music, and enjoy the company of intelligent people.
I have been told I have pretty eyes...
As far as TV, I don't watch a lot, and pretty much only on Netflix. Currently watching:
Doctor Who, which is great!
Also like Arrested Development, The IT Crowd, The Sorpanos, True Blood, and other cult classics
I read a lot. I also love to talk about the books that I'm reading/have read. Careful; I will totally give you an earful! Favorites are anything by Kurt Vonnegut, and also stuff by Douglas Adams, Richard Morgan, Ray Kurzweil, Stephen King, Eric Nylund, Asimov, Larry Piven, and more and more and more. Currently reading Dance of Dragons by George R.R. Martin.
I also love Neil Gaiman, Frank Miller, Adam Moore, Robert Kirkman, and others who fit into this category. I think only a select few of you will know what I'm talking about...
Anything by Stanley Kubrick. Also a big fan of Christopher Nolan. Don't forget Tarantino. Also The Coen brothers. Rob Zombie too, and Robert Rodriguez. Oh and Guy Richie! Really like a lot of Japanese stuff too, as well as one Swedish revenge movie called They Call Her One Eye. I have a long list of favorite movies though, and I find it makes for better conversation when they are not listed. But at the top of the list is definitely The Blues Brothers, Snatch, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Fight Club, Bram Stoker's Dracula, and Dumb and Dumber. That's pretty diverse, just like my tastes!
Currently listening to The Blue Album by Baroness. Other favorites include Mastodon, Gojira, Mars Volta, Talking Heads, Arcade Fire, System of a Down, Placebo, and other bands who don't have "The" in their name.
I'll eat just about anything
Also, I'm always thinking about how funny and quirky life is, and I love a good catch-22
Beer doesn't solve any of life's problems, but then again neither does milk.
Many people are alive only because it is illegal to kill them.
Life is the ultimate catch-22. Those in touch with reality are totally messed up, while those that are out of touch with reality are happy.
I caught em all
But you're going to have to take a number.
Now serving, number one! Number one?...hello?
