I've been told my profile is "excessively thorough," "too long," and "dumb." You've been warned.
Let's see, I'm originally from California and I like to think that I retain some of that heritage. I'm a network engineer by trade, but actively trying to change careers into some a little less artificial. I enjoy watching incredibly good movies, discussing theoretical physics, playing video games, surfing the web to increase my limitless pool of knowledge, hanging out with friends around a fire, collecting vast amounts of illegal music, playing games with friends, reading nerdy sci-fi/fantasy books, enjoying a clear night walking around, pondering the great mysteries of our universe, and occasionally I'll go out for some drinks. A good way to see if I'd be interested in something would be to ask an average person if it would be considered nerdy. If the answer is yes or maybe, then I'd probably enjoy it. Politically, I'm a libertarian(so I'm just the worst), though lately I don't even like applying that label to myself. I have an extremely broad sense of humor and find the oddest things hilarious. That trait offends people sometimes, but I can't help it. I have an 85lb German Shepherd named Lucy at home, she's awesome, the only reliable female in my life besides my mom. Lastly, I'm an atheist. I find organized religion to be a plague upon the earth. If you are overly zealous about your religion, you would be wise to 1) keep your distance, 2) be ready for debates, or 3) at the very least be okay with me not participating in your spiritual journey. This doesn't mean I don't find beauty in art or spirituality in nature, it just means I have healthy contempt for man-made organizations that attempt to build rule structures around something that can't be quantified.
Oh, fun fact: Actual female nerds get +3 to charisma around me.
So based on the Myers–Briggs test, I am an INTP. After reading about it, I believe it to be pretty damn accurate.
There's always money in the banana stand.
Here are some things I really enjoy:
I've been enlisted in the Air National Guard for about 15 years now and I'll probably get out whenever this redneck state decides to legalize cannabis or when my enlistment is up, whichever happens first.
I have a house in Fox Park (near Lafayette Square and Soulard) and I keep busy working on it when I can. I have a fire pit in my yard, so I can play with fire while I drink. I love all the old architecture in the city, so I can't really see myself ever living in the county. I'm either living in the woods or I'm living downtown. Suburbia scares the crap out of me.
I bought a kayak during the summer and I've been using the hell out of it. Love me some alone time on the water.
I'd like to move to New Hampshire or Colorado one day. I like Colorado's social and physical environments, and I like New Hampshire's tiny government and independent population.

Why I'm not experiencing more than I am
Intelligence, independence, adorability, geekiness, healthfulness, ambition, worldliness, fun, loyalty, honesty, posses a broad sense of humor, childless, laid back, and maybe capable of driving a stick shift.
Essentially I just want to find someone who can enjoy me for who I am and not what I "might be." I love to go out with my partner and enjoy what the world has to offer, but at the same time I love the nights where we can stay in and just enjoy each other's company. I need someone that wants to go hiking/camping with me. I need to be able to have deep, philosophical, many times controversial discussions with my partner. I want to be able to cuddle up and binge watch a TV show some nights. I want someone that will nerd out with me at a comic con. I want someone that doesn't take life too seriously.
"Sure there is a certain appeal to a woman in high heels who can gracefully navigate a room, but I prefer the girl in the sneakers who stumbles as she dismounts the escalator. There's nothing more attractive than someone who is honest and real, and the reality of the world I live in is that it's a minefield of potential embarrassments and awkward social interactions. That girl standing over there with no idea what to do with her hands? She gets it, which makes her perfect company for hiding in the corner with me at parties."
One final bit... OkCupid does some amazing analysis with the data they gather, and this is a nice little piece put together specifically to help the ladies out. https://www.okcupid.com/deep-end/a-womans-advantage
