My self-summary
I grew up near the beach in L..A. and am a fifth generation Californian. Camping in the Sierras and redwoods as a child has grown into a lifelong love of being outdoors. I've done some beautiful hikes in the Cascades, Rockies, and Nepal, and hope I have a few more in me. Of course, though the heart is drawn, the body does not want to go as far as it once did..a partner who likes to hike would help no doubt. I'd also like to ski again, though prefer Rockies conditions to the Cascades. Promoting conservation of habitat and wildlife is a passion that I promote online and by supporting groups who work on those issues. I'm still in good enough shape to be active, and in late 2014 went surfing for the first time in Sayulita, Mexico (and yes I got up a few times!) - it was fun to try.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm retired. I have more time for a relationship, friends, causes, hiking, gardening, cooking, working out at the gym, reading, and taking trips here and there - time for some fun! My new grandson is 8 months old and they've moved to Tacoma so am looking forward to seeing them more often.
I’m really good at
I practiced acupuncture and herbal medicine for almost two decades and was able to help a number of people.
The first things people usually notice about me
I really have no idea on this.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Favorite foods are Asian and Italian, the vegan kind, of course. Movies - I enjoy films with a well-written script, but books tend to stay with me longer. Music - blues, world, jazz. I love music!! Books - Asian philosophy, gardening, sustainable living, fiction.
Six things I could never do without
Good music, friends, my son and grandson, good coffee, and nature. I don't need much, and have what I need in terms of things.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Am thinking about what my bucket list really is, whether I even need one, and what is it that is most important to me to do now. While I'd love to travel again - with someone or a group, not solo preferably - helping my son and his family get resettled in Tacoma is what I'm working on at the moment.
On a typical Friday night I am
Looking forward to the weekend. Maybe vegging out with "Ancient Aliens":)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Well if you put it that way...
You should message me if
You feel an affinity and feel like writing!
