My self-summary
A geek and a skeptic. An NPR podcast binge-listener. A rabid DIY-everythinger. A driver of motorcycles and bicycles and cars, and halfway decent at working on all three. I'm the guy who taught himself to hem dress pants because who has the patience to wait for a professional to do it?

I love learning about science and music, history and philosophy, and will happily listen all day if you have something to share.

I've discovered in recent years that people can be pretty neat; I'm less of a cynic than I was some time ago.
What I’m doing with my life
Making things, learning to make things, thinking about things I might make, listening to podcasts and weird indie music while I work.
I’m really good at
Troubleshooting, track-stands, and spelling.
The first things people usually notice about me
My dimples.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Authors: Neil Gaiman, Neal Stephenson, Terry Pratchett, Douglas Adams, David Sedaris.

I don't watch as many movies as I used to. I like most Coen Brothers films.

Uncomfortable BBC comedies. The Thick Of It. Peep Show. Snuff Box.

Odd music. Good music. Who else was there at the Deerhoof/Cibo Matto show last week?
Six things I could never do without
Good headphones.
My glasses.
Craft beer.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
How things work. How things break. Who designed this thing?
On a typical Friday night I am
Ignoring my extraordinarily needy cat. Or drinking good beer with friends. Or at a show. Or so engrossed in a project that I've forgotten to eat dinner.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ask me.
You should message me if
You want to play Scrabble and drink bourbon, or you need help taking something apart it putting something back together, or you want to spend Sunday morning having waffles and and listening to Wait Wait, Don't Tell Me.
