My self-summary
*NOTE*: I'm currently taken, so this profile only remains active to fish for friends and people to play boardgames with.

Quiet, calm, laid-back, low-maintenance.
But also smart, sarcastic, a bit wacky.

Oh, most of the Q&A section was filled out about 5 years back when I made this account. Too lazy to go through it to clean up and update, so tread with caution.

Am Jewish-ish (100% by blood, 0% by religion)
What I’m doing with my life
I work, sleep, read books, play games (not *those* games, only the board- and video- kind), explore things I haven't seen or done or tasted before (but not as often as I should), argue the nature of the universe (sometimes with the universe), teach basic programming concepts to people who should know better, and play with other people's cats. Sometimes all at once.
I’m really good at
Reading what things say, rather than what they mean.
The first things people usually notice about me
I keep forgetting to ask, so if we meet make sure to tell me!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Mostly fantasy and sci-fi, but I delve into all genres. I like Joe Abercrombie and China Mieville, although I don't know why. And according to Goodreads, I *am* the 1%. Whatever that means.

Food: Oh, glorious food! I eat and enjoy everything, although the various asian cuisines have captured my heart (indian, chinese, japanese, thai, the occasional pho)

Movies: Utterly indifferent to the pretty graphics, and can't stand 3D. Jet Li's "Hero" was amazing. Avatar was rubbish. If it was made in the last 5 years, chances are that I haven't even heard about it, much less seen it.

Music: A little bit of practically everything, with a slight preference for electronic music and hybrid genres. Notable exceptions are country (boring), and rap (annoying).
The six things I could never do without
In no particular order, not particularly limited to 6, and leaving off the obvious and the trite (family, oxygen, etc):
* Books (I have a literal wall of paperbacks)
* The internet
* Delicious food
* Lots of sleep
* Smart people
* Teleportation
* Science
* My indoor hammock (I *can* do without, but it makes channeling the inner sloth so much easier)
* Puns (this one added just so I have an excuse to link this: )
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The prisoner's dilemma and its effect on every aspect of life.
What it was I was thinking about just then.
How Stephen King can write such unspeakable drivel so amazingly.
How much of the universe is, in reality, secretly mimic octopi.
Who ever thought pay-2-win time management games were a good idea.
Why there's an incognito mode on this site.
*incomprehensible gibberish*.
On a typical Friday night I am
Working, sleeping, hitting a meetup, playing board games, hanging out with friends, dinner with family.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to be a ballroom dance TA, despite an overabundance of left feet.
You should message me if
I'm looking for a nice Jewish girl for a serious relationship, but friends (and less-serious relationships, I suppose) are welcome in all shapes and sizes. Not-so-nice is also acceptable.

If you had 700 or higher on any of the English sections on the SATs (because there's definitely a zombie somewhere in my family tree - the one thing I find truly irresistible is braaaaains), chances of us getting along are pretty high.

Or I sound curious, or you're bored, or you added entertaining explanations to most of your Q&As and want someone to appreciate them.

(To summarize: if you're a game-playing, cat- and food-loving (love of cat food is optional), intelligent, and extremely literate Jewish Sagittarius, message me right now)

I rarely bite, so don't be afraid to start the conversation - I am not turned off by girls who take initiative!

If the match is under 65%, it's very unlikely to be worth anyone's time.

For people who use the star ratings - it's only good as an anonymous high-five - I can see the total go up, but not whodunit. Send a message!
