My self-summary
I'm an ambitious traveler who loves a good story. I moved to Seattle last November from Atlanta and I'm looking forward to seeing everything that the wild Pacific Northwest has to offer. I'm looking for friends, specifically to hang out with and grab a local microbrew or two and share our experiences.

That's me in a nutshell: always looking for the next adventure. Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.
What I’m doing with my life
I just moved to Seattle last November to take a tech job as a Quality Assurance professional. I'm loving getting to know this city and its unique culture, and I can't wait to learn all of its secrets. Right now I'm working on my career and trying to move upwards in it, and I'm loving all of the challenges this gives me.
I’m really good at
I'm really good at learning languages. I know 6 languages at the moment, and I hope to learn more as time goes by. I'm good at intuiting what someone is feeling; I am very attuned to the people I surround myself with. I'm good at listening, and talking problems through with someone who just needs to vent. I'm good at being reliable; I'm always there for a friend who just needs someone to talk to, hang out with, drink with, or vent their problems.
The first things people usually notice about me
People tend to notice that I'm very charismatic and outgoing, and I'm always the guy at the party that has the funny stories. People notice my eyes and tan as well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Book: anything written by Harry Turtledove, as his work is alternate history and it's very fascinating for me. I also like to read anything about military or Soviet history, and books in foreign languages. I like science fiction as well as fantasy (sometimes, classic fantasy from the 70s is about it). I also have an embarrassing affinity for Star Wars books. I'm currently working my way through the New Jedi Order series.

Movies:
The Big Lebowski
Batman (all of them except for Batman and Robin.)
The Goods: Live Hard, Sell Hard
Sex Drive
Mallrats
Clerks (but not Clerks 2)
Dogma
Iron Man 1-3
The Avengers
Star Wars 4-6
Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark
Memento

TV:
Boston Legal (I am recently in love with this show)
Entourage
Breaking Bad
Mad Men
Suits
Burn Notice
The Walking Dead
Doctor Who
Monty Python's Flying Circus
LOST
The Boondocks
The Venture Brothers
Game of Thrones
The Tudors/The Borgias
and many, many more

Music: I love all kinds of techno and other electronic music but my favorite artist is Scooter, but Skrillex and Basshunter are good too. I'm a major fan of The Doors - Jim Morrison is one of my favorite singers. I also like the Grateful Dead, some folk music, Great Big Sea, The Flying Machines, 5ivesta Family, Stromae, Dan Balan, Pete Townsend, The Police, The Allman Brothers, The Ramones

Edit: Seriously, Scooter is the literal epitome of what I think it means to be a performing artist. Look at the sheer crowd control he is - they are eating out of his hand. Such high spirits and just overall incredible energy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z8NTIQpV0H4
The six things I could never do without
My language skills, my phone, my friends, the ability to travel, Caribou Lou, and the ability to just have a good time.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going to travel next, who I'm going to meet, and how best to accomplish my goals.
On a typical Friday night I am
I like to explore the nightlife in Seattle, and you can often find me at Bait Shop or Unicorn, and sometimes Barca too. I like to relax with a few drinks at a concert every so often (I saw Epic Rap Battles of History live a couple of weeks ago and IT WAS AWESOMEEEE)

I also like to just stay in at times as well. Sometimes after a long week at work you need a night to just recharge your batteries, and it's nice to be able to crash down on the couch with a bottle of good beer or a mug of hot apple cider (with cinnamon sticks!) to watch an episode of your favorite TV show.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Ah, ah, ah, you didn't say the magic word
You should message me if
You're looking for someone to hang out with to do nerdy things! I host a biweekly board game/card game night at my apartment and I'd love to get more people involved. If you're into hiking or urban exploration, or just want to chat with someone new then I'm all for it!

Also, if you got the reference in my "Private thing" section.
