My self-summary
Confident, witty, loyal, charming, empathetic, intelligent and insightful are all things I COULD be if I just tried a little harder, ha! But really, I'm a pretty decent guy with enough experience to make the right choices and plenty of youthful enthusiasm to enjoy life to the fullest. I'm practical, refined, reliable and upfront, and I'm full of punny humour. I like to keep fit but I don't watch sports. I'm your 21st century gentleman with muddled lime and a hint of exotic spice.
What I’m doing with my life
I've finished studying, yay! When I was a boy I always wanted to become a... Master of Strategic Foresight. 😛 I'm also living it up in the city, enjoying an active social life but trying to find more time for writing music, singing, reading and, uh, reddit.
I’m really good at
Making people feel comfortable to tell me their deepest, darkest secrets, giving the best advice I can without judgement, taking charge and being decisive, ignoring trivial matters, waking up at exactly 7:29am, dad jokes, making music, snickering at witty memes, being a host, making awesome coffee and being a fun uncle (currently teaching my nephew how to play guitar!)
The first things people usually notice about me
Without a beard, I apparently look like Karl Stefanovic. Main difference being I am not a morning person, nor do I have hordes of single mums lusting over me (that I know!)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Game of Thrones, The Walking Dead (RIP), Mad Men.
Books of science, humour and history as well as some horror (a guilty pleasure!). I am simultaneously loving and frustrated at reading Catch 22 at the moment.
Music interests are old and new: Muse, The Temper Trap, Led Zeppelin, The Killers, The Beatles and a heap of old school metal and progressive rock (Opeth, Dream Theater, Rush, Sonata Arctica). It's pretty daggy to most so I save it for solo drives and quiet days at work.
I'll eat almoat anything, but don't take photos of my food.
Six things I could never do without
Intellectual stimulation and anything scienctific as a basis for understanding the universe and our place in it.
Music, my guitars (acoustic, classical, electric) and singing by myself or with friends
Smart phone (unfortunately)
Coffee (clichéd but true)
Sweet lurrrrrve and all that comes with it...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Evolution, genetics, shirt and tie combinations, life's purpose, freewill, puppies, attentional bias, psychology, the brain, why people seem more stupid the bigger the group they're in... and whether Nutella is good or evil.
On a typical Friday night I am
There is no such thing as typical Friday night! Maybe I'll be relaxing in a hot tub, maybe hunting mango, maybe discussing transgenics with futurists.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I enjoyed a nine-year relationship, from age 22 to 31.

Oh, and I was also a radio announcer on PBS FM for a heavy metal show. My listening habits are quite eclectic these days.
You should message me if
You're optimistic and honest about what you want from life.
You need a zombie apocalypse escape partner (I'm the man with the plan!)
You're happy to meet up and see how we mesh in real life.
You know the difference between "your" and "you're", "there", "they're" and "their". :)
You're quirky, interesting and appreciate the differences between men and women.
You have an overstock of Nutella and require my immediate assistance!
