My self-summary
I took a knock-off Meyers-Briggs test that pegs me for an ENTP: the Rational Inventor. That is no surprise. I'm lucky I get to follow my path.

A tomboy in childhood, I can be ladylike and un-ladylike, depending on what is appropriate at the time.

I am originally a Midwesterner, earned honorary citizenship in Oregon, then moved to San Francisco in 2005 for work and I love it here.

I'm into sports. I even go to games alone if I feel like it.

I raised two sons who are now 18 & 21 and have left the nest (mission accomplished!) I did this while finishing an economics degree and starting up a career. They have a lot of style, which I like to think they got from me.

I can be very independent, even though I love and sometimes crave companionship. I don't often group around in groups because my best friends are so different from one another that I can never get them in the same room. I lead a vibrant life, and one of these days I would like to find someone to share it with. One of these days...
What I’m doing with my life
I'm happily coasting along, secure in reaching my ultimate goal of world domination. I have a career in energy policy that keeps me busy. I enjoy professional sports, I read, I like to do crafts and act domestic. I collect maps and curiosities, and this takes me hither and yon to interesting little shops.

I work hard, I play hard and I relax hard. I love travelling all over California, and lately I've been daydreaming of taking an extended vacation to the tropics. I have a ton of unused vacation time.

My favorite outdoor activities are golf and kayaking, both of which involve being near/on the ocean. Scoping out wildlife and exploring beaches is also fun for me. I'm a decent skier when I get out.

But face it: I'm a car-less city girl (I don't even OWN a kayak) so I'm into brainy things like economics and public policy; exciting things like pro sports; hedonistic things like playing guitar and drinking fine wine and wearing pretty dresses and getting my nails done and trying out great restaurants.
I’m really good at
I'm good at telling funny stories about outrageous situations (generally taken from real life observations.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm colorful and energetic.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Lists, lists, lists. Just skim this section.
[UPDATE: I deleted all but a couple of the lists. Who needs 'em?]

FOOD. I believe that if it was cute in life, it will be delicious on a plate. Sorry vegetarians, we're probably not a match. Vegans need not apply.

Movies...The Royal Tennenbaums/Rushmore/Life Aquatic (anything Wes Anderson), Annie Hall (almost anything Woody Allen), Death Proof, Kill Bill 1&2 (anything Tarantino), Blade Runner, Empire Strikes Back, This is Spinal Tap, Boogie Nights, Kubrick, me out here! I am drawing a blank so many good movies. ANIMATION!!! Anything Ralph Bakshi, Archer, Korgoth of Barbaria, old Planet of the Apes, Samurai Jack, SouthPark, the Brak Show...ah, tasteless classics.
The six things I could never do without
A purpose in life
Something good to read
Green space: some nature around me
Not "just food." I need Great Food
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Pretty things. Sex. My work. Economics. Businesses. Laws. Being in a metal opera. Society. The nexus of war and peace. Why I always miss buses. Clothing styles.
On a typical Friday night I am
I might be at a game. Or maybe I'm out on the town. Maybe I'm having a small dinner party--I love to cook! Or maybe I'm just in the mood to go straight home to the comfort of a relaxing bubble bath after a long work week. Pretty typical for SF, eh?
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm nervous about the Giants this year. Also, someone got me into Stephen King and now I'm reading Bag of Bones.
You should message me if
Smart, funny and masculine--you're my type.
Successful,* cynical and somewhat romantic--bonus!
Irreverent, driven, and lazy on Sundays--we're a match, baby.
*Here's a very nice poem (translation) about success:
