I used to presume I was interesting, but writing about myself as a person leads me to some really banal existential thinking. Wow, it's like I have no guiding personal philosophy. Scary.
A tomboy in childhood, I can be ladylike and un-ladylike, depending on what is appropriate at the time.
I am originally a Midwesterner, earned honorary citizenship in Oregon, then moved to San Francisco in 2005 for work and I love it here.
I can be very independent, even though I love and sometimes crave companionship. I don't often group around in groups because my best friends are so different from one another that I can never get them in the same room. I lead a vibrant life, and one of these days I would like to find someone to share it with.
My favorite outdoor activities are golf and kayaking, both of which involve being near/on the ocean. I'm a decent skier when I get out. I ditched the car a few years ago, so I admit I don't get out as much as I used to, but I'm working on that.
[UPDATE: I deleted all but a couple of the lists. Who needs 'em?]
FOOD. I believe that if it was cute in life, it will be delicious on a plate. Sorry vegetarians, we're probably not a match. Vegans need not apply.
Movies...The Royal Tennenbaums/Rushmore/Life Aquatic (anything Wes Anderson), Annie Hall, Death Proof, Kill Bill 1&2 (anything Tarantino), Blade Runner, Empire Strikes Back, This is Spinal Tap, Boogie Nights, Kubrick, ...help me out here! I am drawing a blank so many good movies. ANIMATION!!! Anything Ralph Bakshi, Archer, Korgoth of Barbaria, old Planet of the Apes, Samurai Jack, SouthPark, the Brak Show...ah, tasteless classics.

*Here's a very nice poem (translation) about success:
