My self-summary
I am many things, much of which can only be hinted at here.
Healer. Scientist. Poet. Activist. Martial artist. Dancer. Naturalist. Joker. Motherfucking sorcerer.

It feels pertinent to underline the last bit there too- there's no sense in beating around the bush on this one. While I love the cheeky reference to Cards Against Humanity, I am actually a practicing witch of a pretty intense pagan polytheist tradition. Nature is both my teacher and my temple, and yes, I have a devotional relationship with several deities, primarily of Celtic origin. But let's also be clear about one thing; I'm not some new-agey fluffy-bunny. I come from a tradition of hard-working, scientifically-oriented people who wear a lot of black clothes and value blood, sweat, tears, cum, fertile soil, and edged metal. And whisky. Don't forget the whisky.
What I’m doing with my life
Living. Breathing. Loving. Fighting. Creating. Destroying. Healing. Laughing.

Diving into my work. Loving my chosen profession as an acupuncturist and herbalist. I work in two clinics, my private practice where I work under a naturopath, and then as a clinical herbalist at the naturopathic/acupuncture college in Portland. And on the weekends this summer I'm also an instructor at Trackers Earth.

My other big passion is organizing all-night sacred fire ceremonies full of music, dancing, poetry, spontaneity, and raucous laughter... I come from a really powerful community of performers, healers, magicians, artists, dancers, drummers, and witches- and we have a real good time.

Dismantling colonialism and all its various manifestations- i.e. systemic racism, misogyny, xenophobia, religious extremism, and mindless, planet-destroying consumerism.

Hanging with a murder of ravens and a pack of wolves.

Enjoying the ride.
I’m really good at
Archery, stabbing people with sharp objects (trust me, I'm a professional), climbing, being real, getting to the point, lighting things on fire, annunciating, reading astrology charts, poetisizing, making shit up, jumping into new things, rolling with the blows.

I love all things botanical and fungal (well maybe not all things), and am very versed in Pacific Northwest native medicinals/edibles as well as a fairly handy gardener/permaculturist.
The first things people usually notice about me
I show up and not afraid to be seen. Some say I'm a smartass. I say that's better than a dumbass. Or worse still, no ass.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm a big Tolkien geek, and love anything with a far-away, long-ago fantasy/sci-fi/romance theme. My life is the Fifth Sacred Thing. Snowcrash. American Gods. The Book of the Great Queen (non-fiction scholarly/magickal work by my soul-sister and colleague). Also real into permaculture/ecology non-fiction, sacred geometry, holistic medicine, ancient history, and very into my Celtic roots so anything with that kind of twist, so to speak, is great. Rumi, Kahlil Gibran, Yeats, Loreena McKennitt, David Deida's works. I also read a lot about the prevailing international drama of our species (news). We live in interesting times.

I'm (slowly) working on a novel.

Movies tend to follow the same pattern. I'm enthralled with the Marvel cinematic universe, though I only fleeting read comic books as a kid.
Not really a tv person. I hadn't really watched Game of Thrones till one spring during a rough finals week I binged and caught up to season 4 in a matter of days- it was therapy.

I think John Stewart is a god and deserves a Nobel Peace Prize. Trevor Noah is doing a decent job filling his shoes.

Music- when I want to dance/zone in: beats antique, glitch mob, opio, lynx, etc.
When I'm feeling soulful: Loreena McKennit, Wendy Rule, Sarah McLachlan,
When I need to stomp some orcs and/or Romans: my all-time favorite band is Eluveitie- Celtic folk metal: As well as tool, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Rage Against the Machine, etc.
Other favorites: Pink Floyd, Led Zeplin, Dixie Chicks, etc.

I love food from all over the world and will eat just about anything. But I'm really pretty adamant about it being organic, local, and ethically raised. I've a background in ecology and sustainable agriculture, so this is one of the most important shared values I look for in a prospective mate.

And Scotch- that counts as food right?
The six things I could never do without
The electromagnetic field

Shall I go on?...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Asian/Holistic medicine.
Sex & relationships.
Food and sustainability.
Water sovereignty.
Sacred geometry.
Ritual and magickal tech.
Where are we going (as a society), and why I am in this handbasket?
How and where I'll manifest my dream eco-community.
How artificial this internet dating thing is, and how preferable it is to have real, in person interactions.

On my bucket list now that I'm done with grad school:
-learn to ride horses again (I grew up riding)
-after that, learn to shoot archery from horseback
-get certified in Hakomi therapy
-I REALLY REALLY REALLY want a cat in my life again. I'm looking at getting a Siberian cat because they're some of the more hypo-allergenic cats around. And because floof.
-get better at partner dancing (Cocrea specifically)
-get my Wilderness EMT cert (already a WFR)
-climb Half Dome
-New Zealand, Scotland (again), France, Japan, Iceland (again)
-pick up guitar again
-learn bodhran and lambeg (Irish frame drum, and large harnass drum)
-skydiving so I can eventually learn to maneuver in a wing suit
-start an herb farm
On a typical Friday night I am
Not being a typical atypical type, whatever that means.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Sometimes I stay up late at night, gazing into the liquid crystal display monitor, answering prodding, bizarre and sometimes irrelevant questions in hopes of finding a lover.

I swipe left about 99.99999% of the time.
You should message me if
You want a be with a man who revels in deep intimacy, who is physically strong and capable but also has the hands of a healer, is blessed with a silver-tongue, and who is ready for committed relationship and all the adventure that it brings.

You think the tale of Luthien and Beren is the best love story evar!

You're open to the possibility of a real connection through this medium and know that true love happens not by analyzing someone's profile and sussing out the details of their life (though important), but rather by interacting with them as two embodied human beings discovering the Divine in each other's reflection.

You like to dance (actually and metaphorically) and can meet me there.
