My self-summary
I have been a filmmaker since 7th grade when I gave up on my aspirations to pursue a career in marine biology. I used to work at Warner Brothers, but now I focus on documentaries, music videos, and independent films.

I play guitar and am always writing/recording music. I used to live in Tallinn, Estonia and spent years as an ex-pat bouncing around Scandinavia and the rest of Europe working on whatever camera job I could find and busking on the street to make $... For better or worse I came back to LA a couple years ago.

October and March are my favorite months of the year. I'm an analog guy living in a digital world...
What I’m doing with my life
Film, music, and photography. Keeping it real without selling out. Protesting for equal rights and environmental/economic sustainability.
I’m really good at
Film, music, and photography. Listening. Improvisation. Playing string instruments (except for that stupid sitar I bought that won't stay in tune).
The first things people usually notice about me
People always tell me that I, "look honest." Fools... :D
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies: Waking Life, Once, The Big Lebowski, 24 Hour Party People, City of God, Memento, Fight Club, Annie Hall, Sideways, Goodbye Lenin, Amelie, Almost Famous, The Exorcist, Garden State, Eternal Sunshine, Children of Men, Royal Tenenbaums, Pulp Fiction, Exit Through the Gift Shop, Brick, The Cove... I don't know I don't watch as many movies as I used to... The last film I saw in theaters was Inherent Vice... which was awesome but I've been too busy making films to go and watch them in theaters lately... :)

Music: I'm down with anything that sounds good. I've played in a lot of bands over the years and love everything from crazy experimental acid jazz to ancient Sumerian lyre music and even mantras... But personally I tend to play a lot of shoegazey post rock and folk music. Fav bands? Here's a few: Sigur Ros, Pink Floyd, My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, Porcupine Tree, The Decemberists, AIR, Andrew Bird, tycho, Bonobo, Baths, Tool, Yann Tiersen, Elliott Smith, Led Zeppelin, The Mars Volta, Thievery Corporation, Flying Lotus, Miles Davis, Hendrix, The Flaming Lips, Jeff Buckley, Bob Dylan, Steve Reich, Elbow, Traffic, nirvana, Regina Spektor, Low End Theory Residents

Books: Anything by Salinger, Orwell, Palahniuk (well maybe not everything), Hemingway, Vonnegut, Kerouac, Dickens, Ginsberg, TS Elliot, or Fitzgerald... political philosophy + history books

Shows: The X-files (The latest season was disappoint though), Daily Show (at least until Jon Stewart's departure), Breaking Bad, the IT Crowd, Survivor Man, House of Cards, Ghost Adventures, Solving History, Seinfeld, Old episodes of the Simpsons and Arrested Development, and although I loathe reality TV, I have been known to binge out on Kitchen Nightmares...
The six things I could never do without
Guitar, camera, passport, avocados, my laptop (film editing...), and an array of microphones
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Space, time, rock and roll, and how another world is possible.

Also how did the Egyptians build the pyramids and is Donald Rumsfeld actually a reptile?
On a typical Friday night I am
Either out being disreputable or inside being creative.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I actually like Kanye West. Don't tell anyone...
You should message me if
You are down for adventure, film, music, art, and appreciate the temporary nature of existence. I'm not going to lie, I make no attempt to live a so-called normal lifestyle and lived like a gypsy for most of my twenties (I've domesticated quite a bit the past couple years though). I'm really dedicated to my work and want to connect with other passionate people who give a fuck. Let's talk about philosophy and have discussions about our cosmic origins. Meditation anyone?

Btw - If Ayn Rand is one of your favorite authors, please save your time and don't bother writing. I can tell you already that we won't get along if you like Atlas Shrugged.
