My self-summary
Last updated 2012-07-18
UPDATE: I'm seeing someone now and am no longer looking. Thanks for introducing us, OKCupid! :-D

I'm 6'6, you can probably see the long hair, I've got a degree in Computer Engineering & Computer Science and am a Computer Programmer by trade, I play Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) (and other role-playing games, when the opportunity arises), I've been described as honorable to a fault, I've only recently ceased being shy, I'm exactly and to the letter what a Pisces is described as though I'm not sure that I believe in such things, I consider myself a moralist, I've been told that my poetry is pretty good although I haven't written since high school, I'm agnostic but if I had to pick a belief set it'd be some kind of nature worship or polytheism, not atheism.
Okay, deep breath.

Once upon a time, not so very long ago, I could call myself "straight-edge." Now I drink girly drinks in small quantities. Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
What I’m doing with my life
Graduated with a degree in Computer Engineering & Computer Science in 2008, and I'm now working as a programmer for a moderate-sized company in my language of choice. I've been doing a lot of broadening my horizons recently, and I intend to do that more - I'm loving it.
I’m really good at
Computer games, helping others with problems (psychotherapy would have been my second choice of career if the computers didn't pan out, but they did), making an idiot of myself, English, Literature, writing, Philosophy, programming. I've also got experience at being a literary and artistic critic for my former high school, so whenever I see a movie or other form of art, I'll often comment to whomever I'm seeing it with about various technical and literary aspects, particularly symbolism. Does that make me boring? You tell me, but I can shut up if the person I'm with doesn't appreciate it.
The first things people usually notice about me
My height. Someone once saw fit to tell me what she noticed when she met me: first my eyes and then my smile. So there's one person's opinion.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books The Coldfire Trilogy. The Death Gate Cycle, The Vlad Taltos series, the Myth Adventures books.

Movies Chicago. Phantom of the Opera. Crash. The Hours, Corpse Bride. This list really needs updating; maybe I'll get around to it some day. Not today.

Shows and Anime I'm gonna add to this soon, but here goes. Heroes, Firefly, Buffy, Angel, Gilmore Girls (I'M TOTALLY STRAIGHT O.O), Avatar: The Last Airbender and Avatar: The Legend of Korra, Mythbusters, Evangelion, Death Note, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fruits Basket (STILL STRAIGHT O.O), Chuck, Penn & Teller's Bullshit!.

Music Thank you, Pandora and Slacker, for introducing me to awesome new genres. :-P Kamelot, Leaves' Eyes, Elis, Within Temptation, Epica, Nightwish, The Birthday Massacre, Apocalyptica, Krypteria, Theatre of Tragedy, Sirenia, Battlelore, Plumb, Disturbed, Evanscence, Godsmack, Korn, Linkin Park, Killswitch Engage, A Perfect Circle, Mudvayne, . Yeah, I have a pretty specific subgenre of music that I just go wild for - symphonic metal, which America mostly sucks at. :-P

Food In general, the more exotic the better. My favorite dish thusf ar is sah chul tang, a Korean goat soup.

Adding a category here...
Video Games The Mass Effect series, the Baldur's Gate series, Terraria, the Infamous series, the new Batman games, Bastion, the Assassin's Creed series, the Quest for Glory series, the Dungeon Keeper series, Evil Genius, the Starcraft series, the Warcraft RTSes (but not so much the MMORPG), The Dishwasher, the Bioshock series, Magicka, the old Final Fantasy games (although they've been hit or miss since they went 3d), the Portal series, the Mana series (including Secret of Mana), the Left 4 Dead series, the old X-COM games (before they tried venturing into other genres...we'll see if the upcoming FPS can change that), Cthulu Saves The World, the Earthbound series, the whole Fallout series (especially the old ones), Quake 1, the Unreal Tournament (FPSes have gone downhill, man...), Mario 2d platformers (although I haven't played much of the 3d ones), the Legacy of Kain series, the Soul Calibur series, Cannon Fodder, the King's Quest series, almost anything that begins with Sim and isn't an expansion pack, Harvest Moon (although I can't figure out why >.<), Robin Hood: The Legend of Sherwood, the Commandos series, the Space Empires series, the Civilization series, Secret of Evermore, Illusion of Gaia, the old 2d Sonic the Hedgehog games, Blaster Master 1, Terranigma, the Magic Carpet series, the Crusader series, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines AND Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption (even though they're not part of a series together), Castle Crashers, Atom Zombie Smasher, Castle of the Winds, Valhalla, NetHack, Osmos. Okay, that's enough for now. :-P

Can you identify my primary hobby? ;-)
The six things I could never do without
Hydrogen, Oxygen, Hydrogen; Ether, Electrons, Protons; Compassion. :-) Oh, shit, that was seven. Kinda. Oh well.

Too literal? Fine.
Animals. Intellectual stimulation. Entertainment. Hope. Love. Excitement.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
My navel. Computers. Theology. Science. Quite a few ohers, at that. I've an avid interest in psychology, science of all kinds, and just about everything else under the sun there is to learn about.
On a typical Friday night I am
Playing video games, more than likely.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I chew on my hair. I don't know why, but I've been told that that's gross as hell. It's yummy.

I played Farmville for a month or two when it was new. It was terrible - I always had trouble tearing myself away from it but I wan't having fun.

My favorite color is lavender.

Also: I love Nickelback. Yes, I just admitted it, right here. I accept your hate.
You should message me if
You really want to. I retty much require intelligence in those I speak to, and usually open-mindedness. To expand on this -- open-mindedness is not necessarily liberalism unless you're conservative.

I'd also like to clarify on the giant mass of things that I'm "looking for," up there, because I'm telling myself that that's why people aren't responding to my messages but are viewing my profile. ^.^

My objective, at the moment, is to find a relationship.

If I encounter an opportunity to engage in casual sex, somewhere that a relationship is certain not to form, then I won't pass it up either. I like sex, and I don't believe that it's something that can *only* be done with someone I love. I'm not going to have casual sex with anyone else if I *do* begin a relationship, however.

I never object to making new friends, either. If I encounter someone who's just looking for friends, then I'l very happily engage with them only on that level - I'm not going to try to pressure anyone into sex who isn't already looking for it.

I believe that open relationships can work, but I don't require that my relationships be open. If I enter into a relationship with someone who does *not* believe in open relationships, then I am no longer going to be looking for sex or romantic emotional fulfillment elsewhere, at all.
