My self-summary
"You don't wanna get mixed up with a guy like me. I'm a loner, Dottie. A rebel."

East Bay native. I've lived all up and down the west coast for the past decade but I've lived in Santa Cruz off and on since 2010. I've done just about everything since College and now I work in the highly scrupled field of advertising and marketing.

I spend a lot of time looking at news stories online about animals running amok and generally getting into mischief. I honestly get super excited when I see a local news bulletin about llamas on the loose (this was an actual Sentinel story a few years back).

I love vinyl records, (especially 80s hardcore punk, straight edge, and rare picture disks,) vintage audio equipment, speaker building, soldering together noise devices like guitar effects pedals, and fiddling with various knobs and switches.

I like the straight edge scene a lot but I don't claim edge.
What I’m doing with my life
being like water
I’m really good at
Cooking, word games, board games, trivia, fabricating and fixing things, recalling information.

I remember shit like Rain Man.

Also, if we were dropped in the woods without any supplies I'd be able to make us a shelter, tell the direction from the stars, trap game, and start a fire with sticks, so there's that.
The first things people usually notice about me
My intoxicating aroma, my cartoonish features.

Seriously though? I do smell nice. I mainly get comments on my eyes and eyebrows, and my wide shoulders/slim hips.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite artist is Manet.

I care a lot about music.
Descendents, Black Flag, Adolescents, Gorilla Biscuits, Minor Threat, 7 Seconds, Bane, Ten Yard Fight, Defeater, Turnstile, Orchid, Saetia, Pg.99, Men as Trees, Municipal Waste, Toxic Holocaust, Radon, The Lillingtons, Teenage Bottlerocket, The Queers, Screeching Weasel, Riverdales, The Phenomenauts, The Epoxies, The Misfits, Nekromantix, Tiger Army, Batmobile, The Meteors, Koffin Kats, The Creepshow, Wanda Jackson, Johnny Burnette, Buddy Holly, The Cure, The Smiths, Joe Jackson

Kafka, Orwell, Huxley, Bradbury, Poe, Douglas Adams. But I mainly read non-fiction. I like history books and philosophy, especially Schopenhauer, Nietzsche, Camus, and B.F. Skinner.

I have a weakness for campy horror movies such as: night of the living dead, dawn of the dead, day of the dead, dead snow, eyes without a face. Other favorites include The Deer Hunter, Valley Girl, Raging Bull, Taxi Driver, The Alien Series, Mystery Science Theater 3000 aka MST3K, Drive. Basically vintage Scorsese, Tarantino, or anything by Refn. I love his ability to convey tone.

Pee-wee Herman, Archie Comics and Mad Magazine played an instrumental role in shaping the man I am today.
The six things I could never do without
·Dogs. They're like people but more noble and honest.
·My soldering irons
·Apple computers and my iPhone
·Chilton Acura Coupes and Sedans 1994-2000 Repair Manual and my tool box
·My guitars
·Projects. Whether it's turning a cigar box into an amplifier or just finding a stuck bolt and using an impact driver to get it free. I don't know why, but that kind of stuff is like popping bubble wrap to me.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
•Power chords, distortion, and noise shaping
•Strength, willpower, the power of will, and the Will to Power
•Is the color blue I see the same color blue you see? Or is my blue your red? FUCK
•Am I "the ghost in the machine"? (I am)
On a typical Friday night I am
reading being hella quaint and cultured and shit, at a show, or at my desk building guitar effects pedals.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I really love freestyle music, which is about the furthest thing from punk I can imagine. Ask me about it if you want to learn more, I love talking about music.
You should message me if
Who says you should?

Kidding aside, message me if you:
don't have kids (mandatory)
don't have a sexuality or gender you picked out from Tumblr (mandatory)
know what a fat cap, racking, or overspray is
know what a sway bar, rack & pinion, or over/understeer is
can keep up with intellectual conversation
ain't no forgiver-forgetter
