My self-summary
I am a twenty-something drama graduate (this does not mean I sing showtunes and dance around all day, because I really don't. Sorry to disappoint!). Currently living in Bristol. Making performance is what I want to do, but haven't got to the whole managing-to earn-enough-money-to-live-off-from-doing-so thing, although roots seem to be settling and interesting things are afoot. I like going out, staying in, walking or cycling everywhere, cooking tasty foods, theatre, art, music, silence. I'm a vegetarian and coeliac (joy), but I'm not too fussed if you like to eat meat and/or gluten. I can be quite full on but I think I'm a good listener and get on well with most people.
What I’m doing with my life
I have just started a new job as a PA/administrator for a counselling service. It's really hectic so far, but good to work for a service that actually tries to make a difference to people's lives I think.

I also set up a performance company with two other people (see http://sedatedbyabrick.org for (not particulary up to date) info). We've been making performance work for about five years, but have only made two full length shows so far (in amongst lots of other little bits, some good, some not so good!) We take a long time over these things because we probably think too much and don't do enough, but I like to think we're trying to protect our reputation by only putting stuff out we feel is good enough! We've managed to do some interesting stuff so far like go to Spain and do some platform events at some good arts venues and set up a shared rehearsal space scheme with some other artists and producers and make damn good performance work. If I can continue to do things like this till the day I die, I shall be content.

Otherwise, I am trying to enjoy myself as much as possible with all the fun people there are in the world!
I’m really good at
Listening, being there, knowing when and when not to be serious and silly, singing Kate Bush in a falsetto, flailing.
The first things people usually notice about me
Red hair, glasses if I'm wearing them. I have a "quirky"-ish sense of style, to some people, maybe. I'm tall. I'm a bit wider than a lot of people. I don't know really, you'd have to ask them!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books - The Waves - Pure perfection. I like many books and I love reading but nothing has held up to The Waves so far.

I am an eclectic reader, you could say. I like to jump between things and often read for research as well as pleasure. One day it's a book about homosexuality in far-right British politics, the next it's a philosophical musing on disappearance. Y'know, the usual.

Movies - Dogtooth
Hedwig and the Angry Inch
Synecdoche, New York
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf
David Lynch (pretty much anything he's ever made)
I just like the film to make me feel something amazing and be intelligent to boot.

Music - Kate Bush is my musical barometer. I did have loads of other stuff but it all revolves around her and it seems annoying to list loads of music when I like lots really and I'm sure you have much to teach me also!

Food - I'm vegetarian and I have coeliac disease, so I'm lots of fun to eat with! Indian is pretty good for me as a result if this though.
Six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
My head whirls through a million different thoughts an hour, many at the same time. Surely everyone's does? Friends, snatches of music, image, words.
On a typical Friday night I am
My Friday nights are never typical. (I suppose that that is a typical answer though.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I used to think Batman would climb out the toilet and "get" me when I flushed it, so would flush and then run back down the hallway to my bedroom and hide under the covers. Unfortunately, I also used to think Captain Hook would come and "get" me if I slept in the top bunk of the bunk bed I shared with my brother, so there was no respite when the supposed safehaven of the bed was reached!
