My self-summary
My name is Jon and I just moved to Ft. Lauderdale. Probably the most honest way of describing myself is inquisitive. I love to learn about new things and listen to people talk. Whenever I see my friends it typically turns into a discussion about some random topic one of us found interesting.

That said living is the best learning experience of all. I've traveled a lot in my life, and seeing the world is a passion of mine. I'm going to visit every country in the world once, or die trying.

I love getting different perspectives on life, so meeting new people always seems like a brilliant idea.
What I’m doing with my life
Working to pay the bills D:

I recently added a new life goal of seeing the Atlanta Aquarium. Not a lofty goal, but do I want to see the largest aquarium in the world? Hell yeah I do.
I’m really good at
Engaging in fun random conversations. I find that what a person has gone through in their life can be more fascinating than a book, so I enjoy listening. One goal of mine is to find an interesting homeless person and treat them to a meal in return for their life story.

I can also dream like a pro. My dreams are incredible adventures where I fight zombies, save the planet, or combat aliens using computer savvy and the ability to leap buildings. Feel free to ask about being a power ranger.
The first things people usually notice about me
I've recently been told people notice my eye are very expressive. Who knew?
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: As I have 3 large bookshelves that dominate my room this question is tough. Any Michael Crichton (R.I.P) book, Dresden Files, Isaac Asimov books, American Gods, The Fountainhead, Freakonomics, Siddhartha, and I could go on for a long time

Movies: The Other Guys, Boondock Saints, The Avengers, The Proposal (not afraid to admit it, great movie), Get Him to the Greek, Avatar, The Shawshank Redemption, North by Northwest, Scott Pilgrim vs the World, Transformers (the 1980's nostalgia one)

Shows: Supernatural, How I Met Your Mother, Modern Family, Community, plus a few more, though I must say I hate most reality shows. Top Gear receives the coveted favorite television show award because of general hilarity and b-e-a-utiful cars.

Music: I will listen to pretty much any good song. It's more about individual tracks than a genre as a whole. Hip-hop and country are probably my two favorites though. Recently learned to love dubstep too.

Food: Oh god I love food. I enjoy going out to eat at any type of restaurant, but a home cooked meal still tastes the best. I'm currently learning how to cook better as well, which is making the whole food thing that much better. Except bell peppers, those are gross.
Six things I could never do without
-Food (I've been on the rice and water diet before and it's terrible, so I've learned to appreciate having more than the basic fare.)
-Friends who keep my life interesting
-my phone
-the ability to travel.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I want to go in the future. I love to travel and I spend a lot of time thinking about where I would like my next destination to be, recommendations are always welcome.

I also contemplate the the complexities of simple constructions. For example I spent a good hour thinking about the engineering and construction of the case on my phone.
On a typical Friday night I am
Oh Friday my fickle friend. Sometimes my Fridays are a boring stretch of work. Other weeks that day can consist of a night on the town, partying with friends, chilling with friends, or curling up with a book and blocking out the world
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Thanks to year of devouring plot, I can not predict the events of media really easily. It's annoying, but makes surprise endings that much more enjoyable.
You should message me if
You liked anything you read on my profile and have something interesting in mind for conversation. Though I appreciate people messaging me, I would prefer something more than "hi".
Or if you like trees.
