I believe that if you are not going to do a job right, then why are you bothering to do it at all? And because of this, I find that sometimes I'll take on more than I can handle, rather than taking the short cut. But when I get the job done it is far more satisfying knowing that it was done right.
At this point I've finally earned my BSME and have a great job in the auto industry. It's not exactly what I want to be doing, but it's a great place to start. One day I want to design and build race cars, specializing in high performance engines of all kinds. But really, as long as it has wheels, an engine, and goes fast I'll be happy if they'll just let me work on it. I was hoping to get ASE certified at some point, but I'm not sure I'll have time now that I'm stuck adulting all day. But until then I just have to work on personal projects, like eventually building a kart for the Power Racing Series.
Otherwise, I have a fondness for independent films. In my experience, they are better thought out and more original than the blockbuster films put forth by major studios. I love psychological thrillers, The Abominable Dr. Phibes being one of the scariest films I've ever seen, and one of the most under-rated. Vincent Price is genius in all his movies.
