My self-summary
My name is Dan. I'm a St. Louis man by way of Chicago. I'm looking for a woman who believes in herself, who gives as well as she gets and who will laugh at my corny jokes.
What I’m doing with my life
In a nutshell, living life as best as I can and enjoying as much of it as I can :) . I currently work at a bookstore and spin records every now and then. It's not much but I work with awesome people and it pays the bills. I live down in South City St. Louis and absolutely love it. I freelance write and am apparently good enough to get paid for my words. I'm currently working on publishing a second collection of poetry with a third and fourth collection in the works and a novel. Hopefully someday I can make a living off my writing.
I’m really good at
Writing, listening to people, letting my imagination run free and... ooo, shiny object!
The first things people usually notice about me
Depends on the person but usually it's my hair and my glasses. I seem to work the Harry Potter/Clark Kent look very well.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Anything that can really get my mind going and inspire me and broaden my views of the world around me.

Music is a big part of my life. Some of my favorite artists are Tom Waits, Leonard Cohen, Badfinger, Marvin Gaye, The Velvet Underground, LCD Soundsystem, Miles Davis, The Impressions, The Smiths, The Stone Roses, David Bowie, Gil Scott Heron, Iggy Pop, The Clash, Bob Dylan, The Who, The Small Faces, The Kinks, T. Rex, Oasis, Blur, They Might Be Giants, and the Beatles.

I'm also very big in to the local scene as well. Some of my favorite local bands include DinoFight, Brother Lee & the Leather Jackals, Old Souls Revival, LS Xprss, Miss Molly Simms Band, Sleepy Kitty, 4th City, Old Capital, and Sister Wizzard.

I'm a bit of a movie buff. Some of my favorite films are The Artist, Watchmen, Annie Hall, Manhattan, Midnight in Paris, Blade Runner, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and We Jam Econo. My all time favorite films are High Fidelity, When Harry Met Sally and The Philadelphia Story.

Some of my favorite tv shows are Doctor Who, Arrested Development, Mad Men, Californication, Freaks and Geeks, Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Quantum Leap

As for books, I'm fond of the works of Hunter S. Thompson, Djuna Barnes, Jack Kerouac, Tama Janowitz, Ernest Hemingway, Charles Bukowski, Jay McInerney, Joyce Johnson, and Kurt Vonnegut.
Six things I could never do without
1) Food
2) Water
3) Laughter
4) Imagination
5) Family/Friends
6) My typewriter
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Anything and everything. My mind can race from matters dealing with the possibility of alternate universes and the physics of time travel to the latest season of a tv show to the politics of US Presidents and British Prime Ministers within the past 20/30 years to who would win in a fight, Daffy or Donald, to reminding myself I need to pay my bills. As I said, anything and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
out with friends or going to see a band or working
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm still fond of watching late 80s/early 90s cartoons while eating a bowl of Coco Puffs
You should message me if
You're curious about me and are a good person at heart.
